Sighing - Good visit today

Liz has a chest infection. It's not serious and the Nursing Home are doing a fantastic job at dealing with it.

I dragged myself into the home today expecting the usual mild hostility from my lovely.

Not so.

I was greeted with a smile and a hug.

I got her to drink a 1/2 litre of juice from the blackberries I froze last autumn, laced with live yoghurt.

And then put her on her bed, she's very tired. Then I read her favourite poetry book to her. She curled up happy and quite content.

I am home and not bothering about the ridiculous unpredictability of this illness. For an hour or so I had her back.

I am happy tonight.

Kevin I am so glad that you had a good day with Liz. I like the sound of that drink. I bet Liz loved it. I am so pleased that it was a nice day for both if you. Sorry about the infection though.

Hugs.

Pescious moments to treasure. Very very occasionally PSP relents for a moment or two allowing us to make New positive memories. May there be more such beautiful moments for you both.

Oh, yes. :)

The penny dropped yesterday.

I suddenly remembered the Neurologist delivering the diagnosis.

He had Liz in hospital for a couple of days for diagnostic tests. He said that Liz had PSP with some elements of CBD.

Bearing in mind this was a PSP specialist who has a PSP research arm.

It would certainly make sense of her difficult behaviour. I must have been in a bit of denial to have let that slip out of my awareness.

Anyway

Hugs to you NanB

I don't know how I miss things but I missed this one....So a month late and 30 dollars short, I will congratulate you on a lovely day with Liz. I do hope these last few weeks have given you a couple more of these days.....and you both can find a little fun amongst the antibiotics :)

Hi Andrea

Thanks.

They seem to be getting rarer :(

Live was very cold when her friends visited on Friday and again with her Sister yesterday.

This is so not 'her'.

Hoping today I will be able to reach through to her to make a space where she feels cherished and safe.

Thanks for being there.

Hugs

Kevin
