Well after the 3rd attempt at getting gers death certificate, and the doctor having to physically go to mortuary to see his body, we actually got it this afternoon. His funeral and reception are now arranged, phew,

The undertaker had never heard of such incompetence before. But i did manage to get them to put PSP on the death certificate which i considered a triumph.

I would like to say a massive thank you for all the wonderful messages and words of condolence that I have received from all the caring, thoughtful, compassionate people on this site. God bless you all and keep you and your loved ones safe.

Marie

I have wondered what would go on death certificate if doctors weren't sure of tbe diagnosis. I don't know if I would be able emotionally to request an autopsy.

Same here. When my husband died in the nursing home we all thought he was progressing to come home. They had brought him a breathing treatment in the middle of the night and when they came back (15 min later?)to take it off they found him deceased.I also could not bear the thought of an autopsy. They put cardiac arrest on the death certificate.

Phew what a relief for you to eventually get that sorted, what an unnecessary upset for you all. So pleased that PSP went on the certificate , its only right that the correct information is recorded. You can now prepare yourself to say your goodbyes. I will be thinking about you and your family. I hope you manage to get lots of love and support over the next days /weeks and months as you try to make sense of the last few year s and make your way in your life ahead.

Sending you a big hug

Love Kate xxx

Marie I have never heard of anyone having to go through that before. It was certainly not what you needed? Is nothing straightforward anymore?

Glad it has been sorted and you got PSP on the death cert too. Maybe they actually don't want it on it as then they can say how unusual and rare it is? Maybe it's me but I don't think it's as rare as they say.

Anyway you can rest now until the funeral. A great big hug to you. Thinking of you and sending lots of love.
