Well this hospice is like a 5 star hotel, so lovely, so quiet, just feel like laying down and going to sleep. Took a picture of some of the gardens, so tranquil. Yvonne xxxx sorry it's around the wrong way xxxx

I know that feeling Yvonne the 11weeks he's been in hospital I'm still up at night about 3

You take care and do get some rest and it sounds as though George is getting looked after

Ann he seems very quiet, wanting to stay in bed all the time, have told them he needs to get up and get dressed, I don't let him stay in bed after they get him up at home. No agitation there, that is what they are trying to sort out. Bloody marvellous isn't it. Hope you are ok? Yvonne xxxx

Yvonne that happened to Garry at the Hospice. I still don't understand it but he got upset when I left. Even though he knew he was only there for a week. They did sit him out in the chair but refused to allow him to use the controls. I think they were scared he would fall. I was scared at home too and in the end had to shove the controls under the chair!

In the Care Home he decided he wasn't getting out of bed. He really had had enough. I am sure you have asked him why he doesn't want to get out of bed. What did he say? He may well be scared he is there to die? Even though you have explained it's for respite? I am sure that is what went through Garry's mind. He only went there once and wanted to go to Care Homes after that. It was a real shame but he seemed very alone at the Hospice, and very sad.

George would stay in bed all day, we don't let him at home, if he is in bed all the time and awake all night, we do t want this when he comes home, what would be the point. Yvonne x

Hope you managed to sleep Yvonne!?! Mum is doing pretty well thanks and dad bless him just carries on but is getting very confused, one minute seems ok and then not! Agree Psp takes everything away in a very wicked fashion! Hateful and oh so bloody cruel! Hope you do something nice today!! X

Do take sleeping pill so you can get the rest needed to cope. I was unable to sleep for two months which led to a serious break down. So excellent you have this great care for your husband in such a lovely setting - the support will be so helpful in continuing the journey. BHill46

Some of these places are wonderful beyond expectations

Good places to be.

I know it won't be easy being alone for a while. When Liz has been away the house has seemed horribly empty.

I hope ypu have some nice tings planned. Though my number one has always been planning sleep.

Wishing you both the very best.

Oh dear, must make you feel so guilty and that makes respite difficult. Is there no end to the problems this wretched disease brings.

Looks good. I know what you mean. When I have respite I relish the freedom from responsibility and then find I think of him and how it should have been in the space I am left with !!! All I see is happy couples. - - -

And, however good the Hospice , none of us wants to leave them.

Try to make the most of it.

love, Jean xx

Jean it is so unfair, we worked hard to make our children lives better, and for us to enjoy our retirement, then along comes PSP. Yvonne xxxx

Lovely. I've managed to get dad's Dr to refer him to st peters hospice for one day a week so really looking forward to him going there x (hoping it may lead to longer respite care)

I can't imagine some respite.I think I would be "at loose ends" wondering how to make best use of my time-like when my children were babies and when they were down for a nap.You want to get rest but then keep thinking of all the things you could be doing!

I am a PSP hater too!
