Now I have another thing to scream about.

Went to pick up our meds and and something did not add up. I had questioned before why I had to pay so much every time I picked up. I had previously been paying for ninety days and they would give me four bubble packs at a time and would not be charged anything for the other two months supply. Now they hit me up for 135.dollars every 28 days. I asked for them to break down the bill and show what the dispensing fees are for each med. They talked around it about suppliers and med costs sky rocketing. I went home determined to figure it out from the annual print out I had requested. It appears that two months Go they started going to dispensing and billing every 28 days. Between the 2 of us we are on 13 prescriptions so the hit us up the 9.00 dollar dispensing fee for each of the different pills every 28 days. That is a hundred and seventeen dollars for dispensing fees . And 35.00 for pills. I should have been at least notified of the change. I am changing pharmacies. I have been with shoppers drugmart since they opened. What a rip off. Seniors are sitting ducks for the most part. I am starting a boycott and awareness for people to check their receipts and ask questions. Like I don't have enough to do. I think I may twitter and let others pick up from there.

That is another thing I cannot understand! The worse the PSP gets, the more expensive the pills get! In SA I pay ± R800 per month in addition to the amount the medical aid pays!

And then most of the pills have no effect! The depression and anxiety fight most of the pills effects :-(

We don't pay anything for J's pills so we are very lucky. The NHS doesn't charge pensioners and those who are younger do not pay for ongoing illnesses like PSP. Everyone moans about our NHS but we are very glad to have it. Xx

That just is not right. Many seniors have to choose between groceries or medications.

I can't imagine what our hospital bill is going to be like. if they inventory every tube rubber glove and machine read every hour.....we are up a creek!

That could be nasty. In Canada we do not have to pay for anything while in hospital. Even all your meds are covered. Seniors have to pay 25 percent of our medications up to a maximum of $ 25.00 for each prescription. If you have 13 different prescriptions × 25.00 that really adds up if they decide to renew every 28 days. Alberta health pays the other 75%. My cancer drugs are covered by the Canadian Cancer society. There is lots to be thankful for also. I hope things go better for you. Hugs.

We are even more fortunate here in Scotland as no one pays towards their medication. How long our Scottish government can keep tbis up remains to be seen but in the meantime we are very grateful for it.

Thank god we're in the UK so no payment for anything. Yours does sound extraordinarily high. How on earth do you manage.

Sometimes you have to choose between buying groceries or getting your pills. Pretty sad really. Personally we have not had to go hungry but many do.

We have always gone to a private pharmacy, Shoppers is not as personal. For seniors we pay 100$ a year for dispensing see, one lump sum. I think Shoppers has the same plan you should ask.

Our shoppers is privately owned . In small towns they often are. I have changed to Co-op . They will do the 90 day dispensing and bubble pack them.

Are you paying the fee???? Shoppers are all privately owned, ask them or call their head office.
