FULL MOON!!!

Hi all, especially Yvonne! Was going to reply to your "FRUSTRATED" post, but decided to send this post so everyone can read it!

Yes, I have just checked, it was a FULL MOON again this week, 2nd June!!!

It's unbelievable, how many times, we all have a really low week around this time. I too, was having a terrible time. Couldn't stop crying, shouting at S, not caring about anything or anybody! Got so low, had to admit it (not my style!) to others. Luckily my sister came and sorted me out!

Perhaps, we all ought to mark on the calendar, the week of the full moon and remember to give ourselves a break for feeling so bad. Not sure if it's us, or our loved ones. Does PSP play up more during this phase of the month? Either way, we must clear our diaries, stock up on the wine, chocolate, whatever! and take life extremely easy during this week!

This life is not easy for us, is it? Every thing is against us, even the extra terrestrial!!!!

So heads up, things will be better now, for a couple of weeks, until the next one!!!!

Lots of love

hi heady the full moon does play a part in peoples sleep patterns and they tend to go a bit nutty when theres a full moon well mate thats one thing rulled out cause im as bit nutty all the time ==== just looked it up mate see yer mate regards to s for me mate peter jones queensland Australia psp bloke

Heady profile image
Heady in reply to peterjones

I think that makes my point! If your sleeping patterns are effected, then you get tired and that does not make for a good Carer!!!

That's the answer folks, get the sleeping pills in, when the moon is full!!!

Two things that whacked out my students....and me Full Moon and drop in barometric pressure. Yep one kid knew when a storm was coming our way a day before the weather man. hahaha actually not so funny. It was very difficult. He really got angry and I don't know how many times he would be sent to the office by his other teachers. I started giving him time outs where he could come and finish his work in my class.....he was there most of the day anyway....as much as I did for that kid I bet he only has bad memories of me..... like most others in that school hahaha...

i don't think so AVB

YOU WERE OBVIOUSLY A GODSEND OT HIM AND MANY OTHER KIDS IN SCHOOL AT THAT time

i WHAT DDI YOU TEACH AND WHEN DID YOU RETIRE?

I USED OT TEACH ECONOMICS and FINance IN FURTHER EDUCATION AND REALLY ENJOYED IT UNTILM THE JOB BECAME UNDOABLE - I GOT EAR;Y RETIREMENT ON ILLL HEALTH GROUNDS(DEPRESSION,A DN ANXIETY) 20 YRS AGO NOW ADN HAVE NEVER LOOKED BA CK A

SO DONT GO BERATING SELF YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON ESPECIALLY LOOKIGN AFTER YOUR HUSBAND WITH THSI PSP (WHICH I HAVE AND BEIGN DXD 4HALF YRS AGO I MUST HVE THE SLOW SORT AS I AM SITLL HERE UPRIGHT MOST OF THE TIME APART FM WHEN I AM FLAT ON MY BACK OR MY FACE HAVIGN FALLEN OVER

IT TESTS THE PATIENCE FO A SAINT - BOTH PERSON WITH PSP AND THE UNPAID CARER - THR PAID ONES ARE GPOOD AT THEIIR JOBS BUT CAN WALK AWAY ATLHO THE REALLY GOOD ONES DO NOT SW ITCH OFF FM THER JOB ADN SITLL WORRY IF THEIR CLIENT IS OK WHEN THEY R NTO THERE

MY CARER ALWAYS LOOKS FOR NEW BRUISES ON ME HWEN I RETURN FROM A WEEKEND WHERE I HAVR NOT SEEN HER OR A FEW DAYS HOLIDAY (AND THEN THE FALLS ARE NOTED BY ME = FOR MY BRAIN TO LOOK AT AND SAY - WER E THEY ALLL REALLY NECESSARY) AND IN TRUTH I HAVETO AMSWER "NO")

BUJT IT IS DIFFICULT OT GIVE UP ONES INDEPENDENCE ANYWAY DO YOU AGREE??

LOL JILL

:-)

abirke profile image
abirke in reply to jillannf6

Oh my poor B. I don't want him to give up his independence but he has given up things on his own volition knowing that he no longer can do them....He has never been angry though I thought maybe his anger was hidden in the breaking of the furniture. The first thing he gave up was his job....did not discuss it with me just left. I asked him why and he said because he kept falling off the ladder.....oh....and we family members started noticing his speech was really slurred and he would respond to a subject minutes after we had all ready finished talking about it. He would send his mother checks. and her bank called her to ask who was signing them as the handwriting was SO different than previous checks.

He had to give up his scooter and the following summer the car. and within all of that he gave up teaching Bible class and song leading....now he doesn't even want to go to church! He gave this up on his own...for this I am thankful that I did not have to convince him...well except the gas stove He lit the floor on fire the other day trying to cook!....

I quit my job to stay with him full time. It's been one full year since I was a special ed teacher to 5 and 6 graders. I do miss the kids but not the job. I love to teach and the job just came down to paper work and defending myself. If I ever go back into the classroom, it will be as an aide....they are the ones who get to teach, and some of them create lesson plans. so what its 10s of thousands of dollars less at least you get to do your passion. well im not sure im all that passionate......

I used to be on anxiety and anti depressants, but I stopped going to "Dr. Pill" (that's what I called him as he threw every anti anxiety drug at me) because he never really cared. It was just a fast food of drugs....I got myself off them and am trying to stay off the brew....sometimes my only friend,,,SO not fair to my husband....so i am trying to stop.

I am glad you have good caregivers. We are on our own but its ok. My kids are too busy and my daughter is really reticent about it all...denial mode....well B is getting ready for bed so I will wrap this up. It was good to talk to you Jill, sorry that I talk so much!

Hows S doing? B has gone through many a wall put a sizable dent in the brick wall at church hahha. Last night he put one in me! fell backward crushing my knee between him and the loo. twisted my sciatic. It feels like a bad headache up and down my leg pulsating the most at the knee...so much for the plateau! and now I cant lift him so he is on his own.....and now I must go to bed...that should be a "fun" maneuver as knee twisting is most excruciating!

Ouch! That doesn't sound much fun! Hope you are feeling better this morning. A trip to an osteopath may be called for!!! My day off today, spending at the hairdressers, then a off to my osteopath!!!

thanks Heady, B's neurologist is an Osteopath....I always thought they were someone without a drs degree who used more natural forms of healing. I looked it up and it is one who uses multiple resources for healing. Thus this dr. found ots, pts and speech ppl....most of them just diagnosed, suggested and went on their way, pt stayed on for awhile.

Chiropractor is my form of healing. Have you ever heard of laser therapy ? she applied this to my knee.....still hurts going back today.

I hope you are well and the osteo is just a checkup.......?

Have a good day,

Hey Heady - I totally missed this, must have been having my own little full moon phase on my own... I really believe in the effects of the phases of the moon... but will keep an eye on my dad, to see if anything is different there. I had my kids visiting from the States last week, so wonderful to have so many hugs to give and get - also to my parents. The full moon has another meaning for me too, I know when I can see it here, they can also see it on the other side of the Atlantic - at some point, sometimes even the same night (sorry if the science gets wobbly there)... I agree on having enough chocolate on hand, if anyone needs some extra supplies from Belgium, just holler!

Keep calm and keep on eating chocolate
