This is a good area of research. They will have to determine if the excess tau or alpha synuclein found in the skin of these individuals with Alzheimer's or Parkinson's is present as a result of accumulation because of the longstanding disease process or the high levels are already present long before symptoms appear. It will be interesting to follow this research.
