Just came back from going in the dreaded machine!! 3rd one in a year, never again, i must have put on weight since last one, had to fold my arms in to fit in, when moving me up and down my arms were sliding on the walls of the machine. They put my head in a brace covering my face !! So noisy, even with ear plugs. Also done my neck this time, wouldn't it be funny if it was my neck causing all these problems? After all these years? Seeing consultant September, will let you know outcome.

hi jill no posts for a while i had a fall and unfortunately i cut my head open and got a ride in an ambulance to the hospital where i had to stay for a while i had 7 stitches in my noggin i wrote my first blog yesterday evening but it seems to have disapeard somewhere anyway its quietened me down for a bit get the stitches out on next monday your very observant for someone with psp mate to notice i have not been on for a week anyway mate thanks for your concern take care

Sorry about the fall Peter. Pleased you are on the mend and blogging again.
Years ago when my 3 boys were young, when they were on school holidays, we'd sit together and watch an Australian TV programme which had a wombat in the intruduction. I think it may have been Country Practice but not sure. Anyway, when the wombat came on they would all shout in unison, "Wombat, we want a wombat". It became a sort of ritual.
I hope the delapitated old wombat recovers quickly.

hi jo jo how have you been ok i hope i used to know a man he was always saying struth so we called him that he was the clumsiest bloke on the planet one day he was walking by a building site when he got hit on the head by something that had been thrown down hes interpretation was when i ask him what was the matter something fell out of the sky and hit me on the head ]\\ then he was walking down a ramp of a high rise building and they had just put there air conditioning up roughly in place struth goes down there and walked straight into it cut hes head so up we go up the hospital again i think they had a bed reserved for him alone and all he kept saying was struth ive done it again i could write a book on him alone anyway this old wombat is very happy today i dont know if you saw any of the other q and answers but i got everybody ringing me from the hospital to arrange a time to get me showered and my dressings changed a physio lady came and a speech therapist comes tomorrow\\\\ another lady to shower me to much water i think it gives you cramp but it was real great service from a public hospital i thought \\

I have replied to this once already but it's seems to have gone astray!! Great news about all the extra help coming in, I do hope it's a permanent thing now put in place for you. My mums falls have dropped significantly but only because she can't really wait bare anymore, although she still manages on occasion to be found on the other side of her room on the floor, how she does it still is beyond me, so we tease a bit and remind her she's not Rambo The falls she does have now do really shake her up for a few days afterwards. She's declined a lot this last year but it pretty stable at the moment thanks lovely. And of course I know the song, I think Nancy Sinatra sang it. I love all types of music growing up listening to mums country music and dads love of Mario Lansa and Pavarotti. A friend helped me take Mum to see Dolly Parton in September 2011, I had hoped to buy her the VIP tickets so she could have met her idol but because she was in a wheelchair we were unable to buy those tickets, same really but she had a fantastic time and only nodded off once !! As for you dating a Welsh girl, years ago, my aunty ran off with her Australian boyfriend back to Australia, it didn't work out but she did marry and settle down there and lives in Perth.
How's the recovery going matey? I do hope you are back to feeling your old self soon, signing off as I hum coat of many colours (badly) haha

I'd probably hate it as well. The noise I could hear whilst sitting outside was horrendous but my hubby went to sleep! He had earplugs and they gave him earphones with radio 4 on (his choice of programme). He last had one in 2010 and at a recent neurologist appointment, it was suggested he have another to see any changes that have taken place since then. The MRI appointment was last Saturday morning. There were no staff in reception at our super new hospital, and very few members of public. I pushed my husband into the xray department, no-one there either. There was a hand written notice on the desk, "If you have come for an MRI scan, please phone this number and tell us you are here". I did and a woman said, "Can you see the forms on the desk?, please fill one out and I'll be there in a minute". She came soon afterwards and we were taken straight through. Amazing...we just missed the half hour free parking so had to pay for an hour but it's usually 2 or 3.

Dear Peter, I used to use coconut oil for oil pulling and thought it was very good but have been using a spoon in my tea each a.m. And have not seen any benefits. Am curious about what you have found.

hi villagebabe hows it going you said you used to use coconut oil for oil pulling but not sure what this meant im sorry to say \\ perhaps you could let me know please \\ i have been off of it again i wanted to see if it had any effect on me well i can say this i have left off twice and each time i have had a bad fall i had some falls while i was on it but not so many so i will be going back on it again maybe for a few months\\\ then i will leave it off again just to see how i am going again but i did feel that i had more energy while i was taking it because i had a job to get out of a chair when i never took it \\ anyway i used to take i tablespoon every morning ive never had it in tea because i always choke on tea ive had to give it up and i love a cup of tea but i cant stand the thickeners in it\\\\\ i am sorry that you have not seen any beniifits at all mate \\\ perhaps if you took it by a little bigger amount and not in your tea it might do something perhaps the tea is doing something to the oil not sure but it would be worth a try maybe a tablespoon might do you next \time matey

This is not about your MRI - For I have not had the misfortune to be 'zapped' by the deafening machine (as my husband refers to it).
But rather I have read about Peter Jones being called Wombat. I smirked in amusement & thought I'd impart to you ...
Our home has a very large bookcase bursting at the seams with books, paper, pens and everyone who visits goes for a little fossick. And it has become a standing joke that it does not matter what the initial interest is for and no matter what age or nationality the visitor is --- for some strange reason the same book is always selected by each person who visits and it is called "Diary of a Womat" by Jackie French. Jackie describes wombats as extremely friendly, who find humans are easily trained and make good pets. And wombats enjoy going into battle with flat hairy creatures (the doormat). Rather resilient and cheeky I thought and wondered could this be the alto-ego of Peter??
