PSA after one month on lupron
I am 63 with high risk PCa. I was diagnosed with PSA of 30 and Gleason 9 in December. Biopsy and MRI showed all 12 cores malignant with "likelihood of extra-capsular extension". PSMA PET scan showed no mets as of December 15. I began treatment on February 26 with a week of Casodex followed by a Lupron

Bad news: prostate cancers doubling by 2040
Bad news on one side, for all the guys that will join the damn club (and the trends say their age is lowering as well....I am an example actually!). On the other side we can hope for an increase of effort to solve the problem, at least for prostate, breast, lung and colorectal cancers, which are quite

IMRT WITHOUT THE JELL
I'm scheduled for IMRT Radistion without the jell. Doc says the jell may push cancer microscopic cells away from the prostate. He said the cancer is about to protrude through the capsule and microsopic cancer cells could be out of the capsule and did not want to take a chance of putting the jell in and

Testosterone and PCa risk - 3
Here's a plot showing the Odds Ratio for having either Intermediate Risk PCa or high-risk PCa, as a function of baseline testosterone levels. The Odds Ratio tells the likelihood of getting PCa, compared to a reference value of 1. So, for example, for the lower plot (high risk), a testosterone level

Testosterone and PCa risk - 2
This plot shows a Kaplan-Mier Prostate Cancer Mortality Survival plot for three different levels of baseline testosterone: Low-T, IntermediateT, and Normal-T. The best survival is for men with Normal testosterone levels at baseline, and the worst survival is for men with low-T. REF: www.spandidos-publications.com

A Phase 1, Open-Label, Multicenter Study of JANX007 in Subjects With Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer
I have a choice between this trial and a BAT trial. I’m already preferential to BAT, but without being too hasty, I wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with JANX00x before deciding.

Not like a research from Johns Hopkins, but let's consider it
"Florida Atlantic University's Schmidt College of Medicine and collaborators are the first to demonstrate in vivo the chemo-preventive properties of alpha-santalol against prostate cancer development using a transgenic mouse model." https://www.news-medical.net/news/20240213/Study-demonstrates-chemo-preventive-properties-of-alpha-santalol-against-prostate-cancer-development.aspx

Scared and Feeling Helpless
Let me start by saying that it was my intention to wait for an official diagnosis for my dad before I started posting here. I found this group recommended on the Prostate Cancer Reddit Forum. I’ve been really struggling lately with absolute utter fear and lack of control (more on that later). My dad

Agonists vs. antagonists (the latter not to be confused with a character in a novel!)
I know many of you on this site are beyond ADT, but for those who are still holding on in that space, I'd like to share my experience with the newer antagonists drugs, degarelix ( U.S. brand, Firmagon) and relugolix (U.S. brand, Orgovyx). I started ADT exactly 8 years ago this month and during my off-and-on

PSA Rising and MRI Negative
A recent PET Scan showed cancer cells in the
Prostate
bed, but the MRI didn't pick-up any
disease
. The Oncologist is checking labs, and will start my husband on HT.Question for the group. Why would PET scan pick-up cancer cells, and not the MRI? TY The Inquisitive One
