3rd PSA test after RP (9 months)

I jave just received the results of my 3rd PSA test after surgery. It came at 0.01.

I searched for a more sensitive machine and a new lab read that mark of 0.01 which is the lowest level anyway as the other 2 tests but those first 2 tests could read till 0.04 only.

Shall I celebrate tonight ? :-)

Paulo

PS - I wish you all a Happy New Year

Hello Paulo, that is great news. I am now 18 months post surgery and also less than 0,001. I should say: celebrate that fact! Boa noite.

Sounds really good to me. I had RP 18 months ago and since then my PSA has gone from 0.01 to 0.04. I have had no treatment except for the RP. My DR ordered a pelvic MRI last month which came back clean and told me to have the PSA done every six months, and return if it hits .1.

That is good news too, right? If you have your checks extended in time it is definitely good 😊

Great news Paulo!

I go in for my 3rd test on Tuesday. My last two were good and I feel fairly confident that the news will be good once more!

Absolutely celebrate! I also remain at 0.01 after 1 yr. post-surgery. This motivates me to stay positive and embrace a healthy lifestyle, May it be a good New Year for all of us.

Hey Paulo, I'm portuguese too. Had surgery on August at Hospital da Luz and I need to get my first post surgery PSA. Would you let me know the lab that can read the mark of < 0,01? My urologist said till 0,2 it's ok, but I want toknow the real mark. Thanks in advance.

Hi Calexviana, good to hear from you 😊. I also had surgery at hospital da luz in Lisbon but 2,5 years ago. Maybe the same doctor performed the operation on us.

The lowest level for the PSA test I found 2 years ago was in Joaquim Chaves, which starts at 0.01 only though. However they say they can read much lower levels, but only state the minimum 0.01. Since then I never changed lab. There is one in Colombo shopping center.

Let us know your situation and surgery reports. Wish you good recovery 😊.

Take care, Paulo

Thanks Paulo. Doesn't Hospital da Luz lab do the same reading?

I live in the Algarve and I've found in the internet a few Dr Joaquim Chaves labs. I assume they can read 0,01 as well. Maybe I won't need to travel to lisbon for a blood test.

Keep in touch. Take care.

Hi again,

At the time the hospital showed up only 0.04. 2 years later I don't know.

Ciao
