Hi. I just signed up for Medicare recently and recommend that you go to the Medicare.gov site to check this out. I think your private insurance becomes the secondary payer but I could be wrong. Your state's HICAP office is also a great place to start; they were helpful to me: aging.ca.gov/hicap/Outside_...
Immediately after my medicare kicked in, my BCBS notified me that they become my secondary insurance. Same premiums! Bastards!
