Is anyone out there taking nutritional supplements specifically for PC? My doc offered me Prostate 2.4 from Theralogix. It is supposed to promote prostate health.

Thanks for the reply CP. No, he's not selling them. Gave me a few samples and told me where I could get them. I trust him. (have known him for a while)

Thanks for the links. I've got some more reading to do.

Here are a couple more places to look:

This first one is the summary of research on prostate cancer diet and supplements produced by the National Cancer Institute. There are two versions, a non-technical "Patient" version and a more technical "Health Professional" version. If you can understand it, the HP version will give you more info.

Another good resources is in the postings by pjoshea13 in the Advanced Prostate Cancer group right here at HealthUnlocked. I don't know his exact background, but Patrick O'Shea (pjoshea13) is clearly a scientist who worked in the field. Go to the home page for the group and see the "pinned post" on how to find postings by a particular person.

Personally, I have limited confidence in diet and supplements, but I like to take them anyway because I think even a little help is still help, and because they make me feel that I'm doing something to help myself, not just passively awaiting my fate.

Well! Being an almost Type-A person who needs control, this SELECT study really suggests that PC nutritional treatment is in the middle of its effective treatment phase. Thanks for the links and information.

I give my husband inositol , lugols iodine and he brushes his teeth with bicarbonate of soda so as to have an alkaline environment which cancer doesn't thrive in taurine is also good and he has ditched cows milk cheese eggs and rarely eats meat now
