Always tired

I am two years post treatment. My numbers are zero. My Dr continues to do annual PSA. Prior to treatment I was a runner and cyclist. I worked out 10 plus hours weekly. In the last two years I have been very tired. My job includes walking 2 plus miles daily. I have mentioned testosterone therapy to Dr but he is concerned that I could have reoccurrence. Any other alternatives? Any over the counter safe alternatives. My legs always feel very sore . I feel 10 years older. My regular Dr has noted loss of muscle mass. Help appreciated . I am 67 going on 90

jt2ceo I would suggest forcing yourself to start some high intensity training. There are a lot of ways to do this many on line. I would start with short efforts with a range of activities from running, biking and resistance training. It may help to have a trainer or join a community gym. I like runcoach, but strava, garmin and many other programs will keep track of your training. The more you do the better you will feel. I like the book Younger Next Year it has some good advice. sadly one of the authors a young MD died recently of PC. If after two weeks you are still not getting anyway you might get your thyroid checked out hypothyroidism can make you feel wasted. Good Luck!

Thanks. The Dr suggested resistance training. Biking and walking don’t cut it.

It sounds as though you need a complete work-up. I hope your doctor didn't just say "Geez, it sounds like a recurrence" and then not recommend anything! You certainly need a blood test for PSA (when was your last one?) and testosterone levels. Part of it is probably just the effects of aging and perhaps the stress of your job isn't helping any. You are certainly old enough to get a decent Social Security pension (a bonus for being older than 66!), and you must be getting Medicare. Best wishes!

No testosterone detectable. PSA 0. Get annual work up. Full blood work and all tests values good. I used to ride x bike 75 miles a week before job. Now I walk daily approx 2 plus miles. Still ride twice a week. Just slow and constant leg soreness . Nap about an hour after work. Anyone else get testosterone treatment.

I workout 3 time a week; cardio and weights. You need days of rest in between. I am going to ask my urologist if testosterone replacement therapy is something he might consider. I remain undetectable a year and a half after treatment and I am off ADT now for a year. My testosterone did come back after a six month eligard shot but it is low.

Just lace your running shoes and force yourself to run. It's not easy but believe me, you can do it.
