What do you wish your doctor understood from your perspective?

I like the doctor who understands that I am the one that has the most investment in the issue we are dealing with at that time. I'm a valuable member of the team, the one who is on duty 24 hours a day and has the most insights into the condition we are treating. We are a team and that doctor isn't God, so listen to me and evaluate the potential wisdom or insights I can add to my diagnosis and treatment. The final decision is mine. I may not always be right, but but please respect the role I play with this gift of life I own. I am pleased to say that all of my doctors are that very positive team player and I cna't thank them enough for the respect they give this patient.
