People sleepwalk through their lives for so long that in sleepiness, they would simply think silence is just an absence of noise, as if it is a negative thing. On the contrary, silence has positive qualities, a positive of sound and through mediation, you can distinguish the difference between a silence of your body and a silence of your mind. In fact, you see people get angry, frustrated, jittery, fearful, all kind of mixed emotion when they encounter silence. It is perceived as something negative, empty, such an agony to bare within themselves. However, silence is a totally different phenomenon and utterly positive. It is existential, not empty, and overflowing with rhythm of life itself. Silence is a reality within you, within I, always present in everyone but we never look into it. All of our senses are extrovert and meant to explore the outside world. But there is sixth sense also, which is asleep because we never use it. And no society, no culture, no educational system helps people to make it active. In the East, we call it โ€œthird eyeโ€ which is inward; hence, just as there is a way of looking in, of hearing in, and of smelling in. Just as there are five senses moving outward, there are five senses of moving inward. In all, human has ten senses, but the first sense that starts the inner journey is the third eye, and then other senses start opening up. Your inner own world has its own taste, itโ€™s own fragrance, itโ€™s own light that is immensely and eternally silent.

There is nothing more beautiful, more blissful than silence. Look at nature, the moon reflects in the water, and if the water of your mind is silent, then the moon reflects in the water is a tremendous phenomenal experience of joy and beauty. It is your state of silence. It is you without the ego and its problems. It is you without any question and without any answer either. Simply silent and there is joy which can transcend in silence. It is your light. It is your delight. Learn silence. So go on experiencing for yourselves if you have not and at least with your friends, with your lovers, with your family, with your fellow travelers, sit in silence sometimes. Do not go on gossiping, do not go on talking. Stop talking, and not only on the outside, stop the inner talk. Be in an interval. Just sit, doing nothing, just being present to each other, soon you will start finding a new way to communicate and that is the right way. Start communicating through silence sometimes such as holding hands of your friend, sit silently. Just look at the moon, feel the moon, and both feel it silently. And see, a communion happens; not only communication, but a communion. Your hearts start beating in the same rhythm. You start feeling the same space. You start feeling the same joy. You start overlapping each otherโ€™s existence. And that is communion, you have said without saying anything, and there will be no misunderstanding, no agony of your inner being. There will be never any noise that only you can reach within and that is the silence of your heart. It is a song itself, without words and without sounds. It is only out of this silence that the followers of love can grow. It is this silence that becomes the garden of all nature beauty. Meditation, and only meditation, is the key to open the doors of your own being. โค๏ธ

Oooohhh. I need to be quiet that is so true. I am a chatter box. I think to much and I talk to much ahahah. I often exhaust myself. Lol.

I will incorporate silence into my days. Meditation it is.

Thank you for sharing a beautiful post.

Youโ€™re always welcomed. We do speak when itโ€™s needed but in silence is where we can learn our true nature. Mediation is the tool to get you there. You can get to satori state which is a sudden enlightenment. It is a deep, abiding insight in which you can see and understand the true nature of the universe and of reality itself. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐ŸŒˆxxx

Ohh. I do question my purpose or what is the point of life and death. Do we reincarnate ? Do we really suffer because of our own ignorance or bad karma?

I think quieting the mind would be a really good start, for me.

I mean the house is clean and yet, I still get anxiety. So... I need to clean up these thoughts lol or something. Hmmm

To me, it is never a question what is the purpose of life. Life shouldnโ€™t be hindered by a set of purposes so we can be free to do whatever makes our heart sing. Emtiousness will create unlimited space for opportunities, possibilities. Wherever you can reach, thatโ€™s your crescendo of life. Birth and death is part of life and once you live your life to the fullest then whatโ€™s there to ponder upon. Thereโ€™s no life after death, thereโ€™s only one life is here and now. Too much thinking will get you in a circle of thoughts. Thereโ€™s only this moment and you make the best out of this moment. We canโ€™t prevent thoughts as they will run by themselves. Thatโ€™s what meditation is about, you donโ€™t repress your thoughts but let them flow through without participating, analyzing, dissecting them. Once you meditate, the ego just disappears itself. That is why meditation is a phenomenon. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™โค๏ธxox

I agree, before you can start answering those questions you have to start with creating some silence in yourself.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™‚

That's alright๐Ÿ‘. Thats good self awareness๐Ÿ˜. Maybe be as noisy as you can and then see if it's easier to sit silently after. Get all the noise out of your system first. Theres lots of different techniques to help you into a meditative state. You can experiment with them and see what works best for you.

Good morning Gb2 โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜. Nature has its own language and it is a song, a dance of life itself. Only in silence, you can hear universe speaks to you. Yes, when you are in meditative mood, bliss is there. ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Very well said! Totally agree. There is too much noise out there and it often it transfers within without you knowing. And of course without silence there would be no noise. Itโ€™s is useful much like an empty bowl

There's nothing to get. I'm just stating the obvious and emphasizing it's importance. There has to be silence first in order for there to be noise. I like the empty bowl analogy because it illustrates the principle; if the bowl is already filled, can it be useful? No. Same thing can be applied to this one. If there is a lot of noise outside, can you listen? Again.. no. Internal or external noise...it's the same concept. In order for there to be listening, talking must cease momentarily.

This is silence translated into wordsโค๐Ÿค—. The deeper your silence the more you will understand. The more chaos in you, the more these words look like nonsense. Can we ever just sit with somebody and enjoy there prescence without words? It seems unbearable for most. We have forgotten this language. Constant chattering all day long, inner and outer chatter. If you try to sit with someone in silence they might see that you arent silent at all. That's the fear, they will see your insanity. Meditation can help you become saner and move closer to that silent state again. It will help you recover the language of silence ๐Ÿ™

Well said Gb1. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™. Rumi also said: โ€œListen! Clam up your mouth and be silent like an oyster shell, for that tongue of yours is the enemy of the soul, my friend.โ€ We go on consuming our being with nonsense noise when silence is the language of the heart, your true nature as Osho also said: โ€œWhen you learn to be silent, you will be at โ€œhomeโ€ anywhere you go.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ
