It's been a beautiful day here today in Devon but I was speaking to someone that lives in my village earlier today and she said that her sister that lives in Kent has had snow today, now that is cold for April. I know the forecast for this week is going to be very cold.
My hubby and me had a lovely walk through the woods today and I was so pleased to see that some Bluebells were emerging from the buds (middle photo top); I imagine that the growth will slow down this week due to the cold artic weather that's on the way. I was also amazed to see wild strawberries in flower along the hedge as we were walking along the country road.
We walked 19,904 steps which is 8.6 miles.

There are definite changes in the weather patterns yet some people still don't believe in climate change.Devon has a milder climate and plants flower earlier so I'm expecting you will be swimming in the sea before long Alicia. Looking forward to those photos.
Hi Alicia. Beautiful photos! I am amazed to see the bluebells already beginning to flower and can't wait to see them in their full glory. I would imagine the growth will slow down this coming week due to the cold weather that is on its way.
When I was a child, my sister and I would pick wild strawberries and they were so delicious - very small and we had to look hard to find them but well worth hunting for. They tasted so much better than cultivated strawberries.
I was absolutely thrilled to see the Bluebells starting to flower but I did say to my hubby that I've no doubt things will slow down this coming week because of the article weather forecast.
Isn't it great to have childhood memories like that, they really are so sweet and I agree a lot better than the cultivated ones.

I was absolutely thrilled to see the Bluebells just starting to make an appearance, nature makes me so happy and you can't beat a wood full of Bluebells.
I agree, that one is such a lovely place to live and down beyond those trees are a few dwellings and a couple of farms.

We live in Northumberland we overlook the Cheviots. The wind has really been wild here today we took our Pax out both morning and afternoon and He just wanted to keep warm. Mind the sky was a rich blue in colour with pretty white used rain clouds. We will see how it goes.

A lovely place to live but of course a lot colder than here in Devon. It was a gentle wind here today but when you felt it it was cold.

We will be in the garden tomorrow and Pax will get His Walks if it warms up.It was so windy the winds was even pushing on my Walking stick, nearly had me over.

Good Morning Alicia, on a dry cold Easter Monday Morning..... I live in Kent, and it was a bright sunny day on Sunday, no snow, although it was forecast.....love the meandering path through the Woods Alicia, wondering what’s around the bend?

You must live just the right side of Kent, just like I live the right side of Dartmoor. I've so pleased you've had no snow. It's been a cold wind here today and this afternoon the weather brightened up lovely.
Beautiful Devon. 🐣👌 Can't believe you have bluebells in bud already. You have a micro climate! After a really hot day here yesterday, it's so cold today with terribly high winds and frosts forecast. Seedling tomato plants had to come in from the greenhouse as can't risk losing them. Have a good Easter Monday Alicia with good walking or cycling!

I would have done exactly the same, too cold for tomato plants outdoors.
Thank you. Plants were in the greenhouse, but only 1 inch high. They are hubby's!! I buy my own mature ones later on. I grow 6 in 2 grow bags, cherry variety, red, yellow and black. They are always successful as soil is balanced 👍👏 Enjoy evening.
Yes they are young plants. I'm going to do the same as you this year and buy plants and put them in a grow bag, I do love home grown baby tomatoes.🍅👍😊
Ho wonderful to find bluebells Alicia... there's nothing like seeing a carpet of them as they come into full bloom. All of your pictures are just beautiful!

Thank you Sue and isn't it just, I love Bluebells. I was in some different woods today and saw loads of Wild Garlic and more Bluebells, such a treat.🙏🌞🌺
Hi Alicia, you do have some beautiful countryside where you live in Devon and I'm glad to hear that the Bluebells are coming through . I'm just hoping that the daffodils that have come through in the garden are going to be ok with the frost that is expected for the next couple of nights . Clive X 🤗

I would think your Daffodils will be ok, they are fairly hardy flowers.
Beautiful photographs, Devon is such a lovely place to live, your very lucky. We went out for a walk yesterday and had to turn back as the wind was so cold on our faces, looked out the window later that evening and it was snowing, we're in York, it's still pretty cold here today. Enjoy your day. 😊
Thank you and I agree Devon is beautiful but funny you say that I love the North. I visited York many years ago when my girls were a lot younger, the eldest is 39 now, and we went with my cousin who lives in Gisburn 12 miles from Skipton. I have to say though the North does get very cold and can you believe it snow in April, it's like the Beast from the East in 2018, it was a very cold April that year.
