Last month, I had read β€œA Clean Kill”, by Leslie Glass. She writes the April Woo series. β€œA Clean Kill” is part of the April Woo series and it’s a really fast and interesting mystery with a romance twist at the same time. For anyone who enjoys reading mysteries and romance, I strongly recommend this book.

The story takes place in New York City and is based around two women who became best friends before having a Nutritionist/Trainer named Derek Meke help them with keeping fit and eating healthy. Their names were Maddy Wilson and Alison Perkins. Both of them had children and hired Nannies from the β€œAnderson Agency”; owned by Jo Ellen Anderson to live in their homes so the children could be taken care of and driven back and forth to Play School.

The Detectives who were put on the case were Mike Sanchez and April Woo-Sanchez. They both worked in different precincts, but ended up working together to work on the case.

Okay, now to you. What have you been reading lately or plan to read this month? The next book I plan to read starting today will be β€œThe Institute”, by Stephen King.

That's wonderful to hear. Thank you for letting me know. :-)

I have an Amazon Alexa and am gripped to a wide selection of books by Solomon Carter and I would definitely recommend his books, but they are Kindle only and not out in print.

I just tonight started rereading Too Many Women by Rex Stout. He's one of my favorite authors. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Rex Stout has Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin. Either way, good times to be had by one and all.

My Favorite Nero Wolfe novel? Hmm... Maybe The Doorbell Rang.

Any other Wolfe fans out there?

Favorite Sherlock Holmes? That's easy. The short story that scared the hell out of me at seven years old. "The Speckled Band". "Oh my God! Helen! It was the band! The speckled band!" It sticks in my memory. Oh my a few years have passed since then -- and I still get a chill.

That sounds interesting! Is it like Stephen King scary?πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆπŸ“šπŸ‡πŸ“–

No. It's Conan Doyle scary. 😱

A young woman comes to Holmes pleading for help. She tells a story of the night she lost her beloved sister. In the middle of the night, she awoke to hear her sister screaming incoherently about a "speckled band".

Now, in the middle of the night, she hears strange noises that take her back to that time...

My go-tos are Louis Macneice Selected Poems, John Foster's 101 favourite poems (collection chosen by poets), plus Charles Causley Selected Poems for Children and Brian Patten Juggling with Gerbils (being an adult is seriously overrated in my opinion!)

Enough to last a lifetime! Or several. I always loved to read and when I had to quit my job due to health issues I started a (very) small business selling secondhand and antiquarian books, so I have many thousands to go at........

Hi, I love to read and go through many books a month I signed up for kindle unlimited as the monthly subscription is much less than buying the books or even getting a taxi to the local library, now a days I like young adult books as they seam to get to the point quicker also I like science fiction and science fantasy which seam to be in the young adult section, I read for around 6 to 8 hours a day I go to bed early at around 19.00hrs due to my back does not like to support me much more due to it being broke in 4 places which tends to ease a bit being lay down and supported over most of it which is why I get threw so many books in my kindle library I have 1200 books which I have bought on my UK account and around 1150 books in my USA account which I have bought plus god knows how many I have read via kindle unlimited,I think that I would go mad if I could not read, during this lock down it has hardly made any difference to what it is like normally I seldom go out and so seldom get to talk to people it's a good job I am happy with my own company.

Like always I have waffled on again sorry about that.

Regards Poppy Ann.

Dear Poppy -Ann I found your writing reasurring and interesting.I watch too much T.V. a habit that has developed from following about covid and save reading for when Im in bed at night..for 2 or 3 hours.I look foward to this..I feel if I read during the day I would dilute the enjoyment at night,With fibromyalgia and all its problems which cause me isolation,I wonder how much I can get by without contact thru reading and news and drama or should I put a bit of precious energy into more face to face contact. You sound as if you are managing well! Best wishes from Christchurch,New Zealand.
