Wonky Buildings 'R' Us

I took part in an online class today, from which I learned something of how to cut out the detail when painting from photographs. I discovered how much practice my perspective needs, especially verticals. The place is Regensburg, Germany.

Hi BrentW ,

This is really wonderful and I'm glad you had a chance to take the online painting class. How long was the class scheduled for today? :-)

The class lasted three hours, though the painting time was perhaps a third of that. I managed to put in a few touches of my own, which pleased me. . . . .

That's fantastic! Is the class continuing next week or later tomorrow? :-)

It was a one off. I am looking forward to some sessions painting with my father, though.

That's great to hear. When are you both going to do the painting together? :-)

As soon as he finds space, Activity. The kitchen table is taken up with a jigsaw, and the craft room crammed full of his and his wife's paintings. 😀

Sounds great! Will he frame the puzzle once it's done and then you both can use the table that has the puzzle on it for painting? My Grandma loves doing puzzles and she framed one once a few years ago. It was on the dinning room table at the time. :-)

The puzzle is a Tiffany design, and taking ages to complete. I would not be surprised to see it framed. We have painted at that table before, when I was first starting. I so look forward to his showing me more. Here is his latest painting, of Dunure Castle, Scotland.

Here is a semi-abstract he painted about 35 years ago, when deciding that it was not his style at all.

I am hopeless at art . My sister ran an arts on prescription class before lockdown which helped those with depression.

I have received much support and encouragement from an arts-in-health organisation here in west Wales. I much appreciate the encouragement I receive from both them and here.
