A lovely day today and a few steps

β€’33 Replies

Hi all

Hope you've all had a good day. Yes we are now in lockdown and I'll be outside again more often as of course no gym.

Here are some photos from today's walk. I walked 36,101 steps which equated to 18.07 miles and a calorie burn of 1,431, let's just say I can feel it in my feet.

Hope you like the photos.

Stay safe and well all and we are on the cusp of winning this battle, just a little longer to be patient and it will pay off.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

So glad she's OK. Horrible when little ones are poorly. Keep walking, you lucky lady from Devon!!

Thank you Diana and her appointment went well today, her eyes are still clear (she has mainly the Uveitis part of JIA mainly i.e. it's in her eye's so the medication has saved her sight). I certainly will thank you :)

Keep up the good work by walking. I need to do more of that. Great pics.

Hi Alicia, Another lovely day but cold. Great photos and lovely views. I also have a daily walk just three or four miles of country roads. Unfortunztely, lockdown means we can only walk for exercise and more beautiful spots means getting in the carto get to them. However, I am grateful I live in the country and get outdoors to enjoy a daily walk. I hope the sunny, though cold, dry weather continues, it certainly helps to lift the spirits.Cheers.

It really was a beautiful day although cold but once you get walking it's fine. I live right on the coast so am really fortunate.

I'm so pleased you live in the country, aren't we fortunate. I'm also pleased your getting out as well.

Hope you're having a lovely evening.

Thank you, it was a good walk and I wasn't cold at all🌈😊

Well done to you again!! Beautiful photos!! Dave been at hospital today , if you read What have you been up to today, you can I have a catch up there. Don't worry , he is fine but it's been a bit traumatic!!I've been talking with Dave about getting an exercise bike because as you know I struggle to walk any distance but need to exercise. It was all set up but the seat hadn't been moved back so my arthritic knees felt like they'd been snapped!! All's well that ends well πŸ™‚. Right height etc now!!! I am a little shorty πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Going to find some photos of me having a perm. I thought I looked fab,πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Hi Alicia, WELL DONE. That is the reason for doing well. I thought my 26.440 steps would be a great distance ... nothing will be as good as Yours. Happy for you, keep up the good Work. Played 18 holes, walked and herewith as well some Pictures. Hope I can make it work ..... Best for 2021, Traudel from BC, Canada

in reply to Traudel

Thank you Traudel. 26,440 is an amazing amount of steps and I'd be more than happy with that, I'm always striving for a PB, I do push myself at times. Well done on the 18 holes. What a fantastic photo, such a pretty bird. I do love birds. I should imagine it's pretty cold in Canada at the moment.

My mum and dad lived in Toronto for 2 years back in the 50's but then moved back to the UK just before I was born.

Really lovely photos Alicia, and a reminder that being outdoors can help so much with staying well, physically and mentally!

in reply to

Thank you Sue and totally agree that being outdoors as well as exercise is so good for mental and physical health. It might not be so easy to go out at the moment as it's so cold but once you are out there and wrapped up you soon warm up.

Beautiful. Yes, patience is a virtue......I have a sign on my wall that says....Pray more, worry less!Sorry your feet hurt. I jammed by right big toe about 3 weeks ago and it still hurts. Think I must have fractured it but haven’t been to the doc. Guess I should have it checked out. 😟🌈❀️

in reply to Williemom

It really is a virtue and I love your sign, really good and excellent therapeutic words. I did actually fracture my foot back in May last year and soaked it every night in very cold water for around 3 yo 4 weeks and it brought the swelling down. After a few weeks it was still aching a bit so I eventually went to the doctor and she sent me for an x ray and yes I'd fractured it but it had healed on it's own. Since that happened I now get a problem with that foot in that the toes hurt in shoes sometimes if I walk a long distance, they were hurting yesterday but I'm ok in walking boots. I'd get it checked out, it's either bruising which is taking its time to heal or a fracture. I hope it's better very soon. xx πŸ€—

Thanks Doc !!πŸ€— I will. It doesn’t hurt unless I’m on it a lot. But I don’t walk the steps that you do.....It’s still a little swollen and feels a little numb at times. Will get it checked out .....😷😎

in reply to Williemom

Ha ha. Mine didn't hurt too much after I'd been soaking it for a while but it still wasn't 100% and in particular when I was walking around ordinarily i.e. if I walked to the local shop etc. Mine was also numb at times so I do think it'll be good to check it out. Hoping that you have healed and don't need anything done to it.

Take care
