Hi everyone! Hope everyone is ok during the first day of the lockdown in England, and if you're not in England that you're still keeping safe and healthy during this strange time. Between this and the US election, I completely forgot it was bonfire night! My husband and I have some sparklers to light in the garden this evening so at least we will have something to do this evening.
This week we haven't had time to watch the Great British Bake Off yet so we haven't been able to do the 80's week theme (which I think sounds quite fun!) though we are hoping to catch up tomorrow and will be making a classic prawn cocktail in a wine glass (I just missed the 80's so my husband had to inform me this was a very popular dish in his parent's house growing up).
Instead I wanted to share a recipe from Jamie's 15 minute meals that we really enjoyed, which was a chicken tikka salad with naan bread. It was really easy to make and felt very filling and healthy! The picture doesn't look like it, but it has a lot of spinach at the bottom You can try the recipe here: hotcooking.co.uk/recipes/ja... .
What is everyone else cooking or eating this week? I am definitely going to get back to baking during this 4 week lockdown so I hope to share some bakes with you soon!

Thanks so much Jerry! I have been thinking of Christmas food as well and absolutely love shortbread so your biscuits look heavenly!! I hope you stay safe and healthy over the next 4 weeks and that it gives you the opportunity to make some really delicious stuff!
Thanks for sharing! That looks so lovely.
Tonight's dinner here is beef stew along with sweet potatoes.
That looks and sounds really appealing SadieHU! I hope you enjoyed your sparklers in the garden. It's a wonderful night to be outside for a little while. It's very crisp and clear without being too cold.
Well now, unfortunately I remember 80s eating only too well and do remember the dread prawn cocktail. Indeed every so often I still crave one, resplendent in its wine glass and on a bed of iceberg lettuce! Eating out in the 80s: Prawn cocktail, steak and chips and Black Forest gateau! It was de rigueur!
This week I discovered a really successful pound cake recipe using condensed milk.
It's really simple and readily findable on the internet. I thoroughly recommend it, when you get back to your baking!
