I am 64, retired early disabled, but feel I could help with the Vaccine tests for Covid 19? I have various medical conditions but feel my immunity that I have built up over the years could help forming some sort of vaccine? I have not had Covid 19 but living in Northern Ireland feel like a tennis ball in a tin box, getting nowhere! Most of the various 'UK' sites concentrate on UK mainland! I have limited transport, but am getting nowhere anyway! I WANT TO HELP! In reality isolated and forgotten about, people asking for volunteers for testing various vaccines. I am taking various medications for my numerous conditions, which at my age are taken for effect rather than deleting their cause, maybe this CADAVER I call my body, might have the x factor to effect some sort of cure or at least a bit of relief for people in this terrible pandemic? Even one of my specialists called me a "one off!". I am single and have been living on my own for seventeen years let me be of some use, PLEASE!

I just want to say hello, I read your post and then your profile and find you have a number of complex health problems to deal with. In spite of all your difficulties you want to find a way of offering your help to find a vaccine for Covid 19. This is a truly remarkable offer and its selfless people like you who really can and do make a difference. Reading through your post really lifted my spirits and human nature. So please, on behalf of all those people out there, I would like to say THANK YOU for such a selfless, noble gesture.

Wishing you every success in your quest and please let us know if you are successful.

Xxx

Such a supportive reply, Jerry! There can be rewards to volunteering!

Hi Adlon57 I see that Jerry has already given you a link to follow which may already contain this information. But if not, you can register your interest in helping with research, UK wide, at:

nidirect.gov.uk/services/co...

But meantime, don't feel helpless. You are also helping greatly by following all the advice and rules in place locally. Much of what's gone wrong seems to be by so many people just not following the rules, which are in place for very good reasons. Take care and I hope you are offered a chance to help further. 👍😊🙏

Apparently I'm on a list but did not notice the small print, there are various groups, 65 and upwards seem to be the one they are interested in at the moment, I'm 64! I rechecked my 'membership' and indeed I'm in! There had been an article on the local news yesterday, from my old alma mater, but I must have 'missed' it by being too young by a couple of months? I originally thought I must have slipped through the floorboards?
