What's anyone done today

Another Saturday..... Another pub lunch and supermarket ๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ˜Š, as we went to a pub close to where my sister lives I took a taxi over and had no problems, pub pretty much like the one last week, one way in and out through the door to the garden, effectively one way, then down to sainsburys, all OK, looked at clothes for the first time in months, and brought myself a T shirt which was half price, hopefully I'll take a short bus journey before long, but the one thing that struck me today was the amount of cars on the road, I know we're coming out of lockdown but it felt like it does in normal times

Sounds like you've had a good day Jennymary and it sounds like you enjoyed your pub lunch. I'm glad you got to the shops as well and I agree with you on the traffic, it feels like it's back to normal.

We've had the grandchildren, they stayed overnight, and we went to the park this afternoon with their mummy and aunty, they had a lovely time.

Stay safe

Busy day today with future learn this morning, listened to music, had my usual lunchtime walk and then went to the non essential shops just to prove everything was fine and that there was no need to be frightened for today and didn't buy anything and came back home and carried on with future learn and had some good news that castles in Wales will be reopening very soon which gives us something to look forward to as well as the pubs reopening shortly as well.

It's the same here traffic is more or less similar to what it was before lockdown started back in March.

Today I read my library books in the morning. Then at lunchtime I looked at blue jewellery on Amazon. This is a quiet reflection day however mostly. I have yet to do some more research on card making projects online. I even had a barbecue dinner this afternoon of cocktail sausages, fruit salad in a bowl and coronation chicken sandwiches too. So that was my day in a nutshell. I am going to open a bottle of wine soon and have some drinks tonight.

Hi Jennymary, That sounds like a great day. Hope you both enjoyed your lunch and it must've been fun looking at the clothing in Sainsburys. I agree with you that the traffic seems almost back to pre-pandemic levels, certainly on the road outside my apartment.

I took a wander along our local High Street this morning and bought a few bits and pieces which I rather more wanted than needed! I baked some sourdough bread and cooked our evening meal. Now I'm just doing a bit of catching up here in the community, and happy to say my internet connection has been much more stable today! Hope you enjoy your evening!

Glad you had a good day I went shopping today The first time in 5 months I enjoyed looking in the clothes shops Everything was situated well and really well posted with what to do I felt quite safe I did enjoy but was shattered when I got home but it was worth it xx

in reply to Mumcon

Same with me today it was the first time since this kicked off in March that I went into a shoe shop and a clothes shop this afternoon and made a note of things I will be buying in due course.

Today was an exercise to prove to myself everything was fine and there is no need to be frightened!

I made a list this afternoon of the new clothes I will be buying in due course when I went to prove everything was fine.

Sounds very nice. I went down town and did a bit of retail therapy myself with a top and 2 pairs of trousers. I met a friend and had a good old chinwag. When I got home and was sitting in my garden another friend dropped by so had another one. Luvely jubbly ๐Ÿ˜€

We brought a new mattress โ€™Emmaโ€™ and we had to unroll it and let it settle after delivery ๐Ÿšš but most comfortable. Hope you have great comfort and sleep ๐Ÿ’ค.

I saw the Hungarian GP was on but didnโ€™t catch it. Watched Shirley Valentine and reminisced visiting Mykonos and wondering when we might get there again ? ๐Ÿค”. Hope your film was good๐Ÿ‘Œ

Sounds lovely to have a pub lunch! Havenโ€™t felt confident yet but beginning to think about it.

Yesterday we had a coffee in the beautiful grounds of our favourite local restaurant ( before their lunchtime service started). It was lovely ๐Ÿ˜Š and the dog had a great time trying to chase the peacocks ๐Ÿฆš, ( although he was tightly held on his lead).

Today I did a zoom fitness class with my gym mates and a quick chat online after. Then we walked the dog around the village. Around 3pm we went round to our neighbours garden with a bottle of Prosecco and glasses. Had a wonderful catch up and chill out with them. Our dog ๐Ÿถ came too. We have felt pretty isolated from everyone for months now so this was a great way to feel more connected but safely distanced.

This evening we did a zoom family quiz with my family some 200 miles away, and surprisingly we won the quiz ! ๐Ÿ˜‚. Today was probably the nicest Iโ€™ve spent since lockdown began.

Sounds like you have had a nice day. I have noticed lot's of sales on at the moment. I spent the afternoon at my mums with my sister. We had a lovely afternoon, chatting and catching up on things. Watched some of a series I've been watching on Netflix this evening. My grandson is coming for the afternoon tomorrow so I'm really looking forward to that. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒป

How fun! So balky does you.

All those living in Britain are very fortunate. Iโ€™m in California and my medical team wonโ€™t allow me to go grocery shopping or much of anything else. We walk near our home in unpopulated areas and today saw friends outdoors with masks on but sat at least 6 ft away.

Weโ€™ve had an increase in virus cases so many things have been shut down again. The feeling is that if weโ€™d all just worn masks when this began, weโ€™d be back to normal now. I fear weโ€™re far from it now.

There are still many who wonโ€™t wear one and think itโ€™s not necessary. So very disappointing.

Best wishes to everyone and stay well!

Glad u had such a great day๐Ÿ˜Š Pubs (bars) are shut down AGAIN in CA. Dining is outdoors only. Masks are ordered to be worn by the Governor. Code Enforcement is going to fine/ticket those who don't comply. Eventually, because COVID case's were at an all time high again 2day, expecting ANOTHER shutdown. Beauty salon's/barber shop's, gyms, beaches ordered shut down AGAIN also. I put up battery powered little light's and beautiful silk rose's on freshly washed/ironed curtains in my bedroom. Tomorrow, change bedsheets and clean floors.

I am thinking you all read my post yesterday, thanking everyone for their support during my really dark days, over the last twelve months , of which there have been many, I know, but maybe not. I was in such a good mood. For the first time in over a year I had a good day. Finally got beyond the garden for the first time, overcame my anxiety and and braved it to the hairdressers. There were no traumas with DH, even though I had left him on is own for an hour, and then we had a pleasant afternoon in the garden. Later on, our daughter and grand daughter brought the weekly shop and spent and hour or so with us on the garden. Lovely. I was in less pain than I had been for months, which may be related to the sunshine; getting out, reducing my stress and anxiety or by actually having a normal conversation with someone; anyway, I really wanted to share my happiness, But to be honest I feel totally deflated. There was only one person responded to my post, and I thank her profoundly for that, I will be eternally grateful. Otherwise, it seems that now, everyone else has moved on . My small item of joy pales into insignificance as the side of others on here who are now so happy with their own lives, out socialising with friends and family, visiting coffee shops, supermarkets, clothes shopping, pubs, parks, or even just going for a walk, etc. Some have even managed it as as frequently as once a week. So I suppose my trip the hairdressers, in the overall scheme doesn't really count! I did though offer apologies to everyone on here, when I posted, just in case anyone less fortunate than me should have thought, I was gloating a little, and I didn't want to upset anyone. Maybe that is what I did, or maybe I had got this site wrong and others don't really care after all! Sorry if I sound bitter, but things are back to normal today, and it would have been nice to have known that others actually wanted to shared my one good day with me, in spite of their own happiness!

That you had a better day is wonderful: I am so very glad for you. You have some family there, fortunately. To get outside, even briefly, is so nice. I sometimes think about what, within my control, made a special day special for me; and when possible I use them over for more rewarding times. Hope helps. Thinking of you. Be safe. Be happy.

Thank you Stub007 for your good wishes.. I think that is a wonderful idea to 'use them over' I will certainly use that! And you are so right. We all need hope. I hope you are coping during this difficult time. Stay safe. and back to you Be Happy!

I have just read your post. Feel for you and rejoice in your one day of happiness, I have had nearly 5 months of hell. But I am mainly mental health and arnt I reminded of that my nhs. And family,.

My mother has dementia now. She is 89 and my dad is 91, they live together in the sane city as myself. I'm 54, nearly 55, they have had a life, I've been very ill with mental health since age 14, and have been trying to get a diagnoses for physical auto immune since 2016, agony for 4 months.

Severe photosensitivity has now in 2019 been diagnosed from my own selfies, referral in pipeline from Devon to cadiff.

My cat is lovely, I am not married, she us on bed looking at me at moment she is my closest mamel,

She has just jumped up onto wardrobe

My mother and father went out to a garden centre yesterday mum felt better for outing so phoned me 3 times. I was too tired to walk 1 mile to see her and my dad this morning as went out on local area for exercise before breakfast and hardly slept the night before, Gemma my cat is an indoor cat, I adopted her from a friend of a friend who wanted to rehome her.

Her previous owner rang me up the other day, she has mental health too and had an operation don't know what for in 2017, on life support her not me while operation was done.

She stayed with a friend who wasn't keen but had no choice as her son could not really be expected to take her to toilet. He is a young adult.

She seems much better as far as I know as operation appears to have been a success, wish I could have one. Just got lots and lots of more and more physical symptoms that seem minor to them. I m treated like a fraud.

But I must not show any anger at all. And be polite to people who are rude to me.

I do have 2 friends I met through something called women's network, it bi longer exists as m I n d in our city closed down. No one knows why.

The specialist nurses I saw for incontinence were v good.

I saw dermatology 3 times in one week. And a consultant dermatologist woman for allegies as they tested among other things to see if I was allergic to the sun cream they prescribe. I wasn't. I could bit wash for 3 days as had patches on back and thigh and couldn't get them wet.

They were removed on the Friday I don't drive. But lice centrally but got a taxi. There and a local bus back. The mystery became clear. The bus changes its letter o the way back from r going out to I coming back. Someone at the bus stop informed me I'd this as the letter r, was not on the bus stop.

I do at least have common sense, and logic.

I have not stepped in a store, restaurant, shop or mall since early March. I've been to the hospital 4 times for treatment and to the doctors' offices twice for treatment. However, I have gone for a nature walk almost every day except when it's raining heavy, and attend a private studio for classes in pottery whose doors and windows are wide open. But more excitingly, I started training for sculling at the beginning of January. I've been out on the water since mid-June and just yesterday leveled up from beginner to intermediate in the sport. It is a total body workout and I feel terrific. p.s. I'm a stage IV SLL in active treatment, dang disease will not go into remission, so I've got to have fun despite it. I have a small circle of trusted friends who honor masking, distancing, and living an active life.

I have enjoyed my day. I drove to my daughters house where we took the boat out into the Gulf of Mexico with with the grandkids (they are all adults).

We take snacks and enjoy the sunshine. Back at the daughters house the kids are preparing vegetables to go with the chicken on the grill. The kids are vegetarian and vegan. Plans are to watch Hamilton this evening. Altogether a wonderful day.
