Really needing comfort after this

I got blasted with this nasty unwanted ditty this morning over coffee. The health care workers, and their families, have to deal with the aftermath. It frightens me and makes me sick. I keep wondering if the world we are living in now will ever go back to "normal"? Are these idiots? Monsters? What about all the new vectors moving out from center...

I need to hear from our community. This is too horrible.

that is really upsetting to read :( it is frightening and worrying to hear about that sort of stuff going on when you think, as you say, about the healthcare workers who do so much. we can only hope that everyone starts to follow the mandates and the guidelines so that we can see the virus eradicated.

try your best to do something to lift your mood today as these things are out of our control.

take care and stay safe.

You are so right. I don't have to join, been here a bit and loving the supportive community.

I would love to hear more about your screen name. I'm in the States, so clueless to much in the UK. You served? Thank you! Tell your stories if you can. They would do us all good.

Sadly my lovely, my stories are not for telling, they are not the stories that civilians like to hear..... I served my Queen and country in the Royal Air Force, and was proud to do so! 😀🌈

Taking to heart the advice here to try to lift my mood, and maybe take away from the bad just a bit:

Are you celebrating 4th July Independance Day at home?? 😀🌈

It's all very strange. The crowds, the sugar waffles... the barking dogs, the blankets at sunset... The National Anthem... the fireworks. The smells. The smoke.

How kind of you to ask!

No, I don't have any plans. It has all just disappeared into Covid-19.

You are right, you know.

Maybe Jimmy Cagney in Yankee Doodle Dandy. How does that sound?

Mydexter,

You made me laugh out loud! Swamp creatures feeding on human angst. BACK IN THE MUCK YOU GO! You are so right! 🐵 🙈 🙉

There is so much wisdom here. It never occurred to me, but it does now.

What are the odds they WANTED to get themselves in the media? And the media jumps, hook, line, and sinker! How many monsters have the media encouraged to act out for a bit of the spotlight?

P.S. I'm in the U.S. and I just love when I read "favourite" or other special, different ways you Brits express yourselves. We Yanks are in a different world. So much more sterile. Coming here refreshes the best parts of my childhood, lost in my books. The wonderful The Wind in the Willows, the fairy tales that took me strolling down the moors, then growing up and hearing Heathcliff shouting "Cathy!" out the window into the storm...

My goodness, that took me away. Thank you!

My husband is ranting "Quarantine them, and deny them health care!" (Don't expose more health care workers.)

I was shocked. A quote popped up in my mind "Don't let evil into your heart. It will make a home there." I just looked, and it was from Agatha Christie, in Death On The Nile.

I don't know what should happen to these people. But quarantine for sure.

They should stop scaremongering!

Attention seekers or loopy??

Loopy is far too kind and small a word. Their acts intentionally endanger us all, first and foremost the front line health care workers.
