Blowing out the cobwebs

Agoodenough profile image

We went for a drive down to the coast today. (Sandgate near Hythe) It was beautiful and I love this photo of the waves crashing down. It was very blustery and bracing and certainly blew out the cob webs. Since I started doing watercolours in the lockdown I notice colours, shade and textures like i never did before. It's like a whole new world. I love it!

Take care everyone.

Ali 🙂💚

Its a lovely photo Ali! I too love to see the sea in this mood! It's just the sort of scene for blowing cobwebs away and I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I think that starting to take an interest in art and/or photography does sharpen up your senses and make you notice much more. 🙏

It certainly has. I’m getting there with my art. I couldn’t draw a straight line but think I had a mental block and now I’m making gradual progress but more than anything I’m enjoying it and that’s the main thing.

So are you going to attempt a water colour of your photo ?, I'm sure it would be amazing . Xx

Well that would be good. I’m struggling to do the sky. I want to be able to do heavy moody skies but at the moment I can do eyes and flowers haha 🤨 but it’s early days!

Please xx

How exciting that your creativity is being inspired by nature. Your right about colours....there will be many shades of blue, green, purple and many more in the sea.

I suspect there will be a lovely, fulfilling day of painting on the horizon after today.

Thank you. I hope so. Not good at sea or skies although I can do the splash of waves. So I’m getting there, thank you for your encouragement 🙂

Looking forward to the next one.

Ah thank you Jerry. I love it. When I feel demotivated I look at all the paintings on line that have sold for millions that if I’d have painted them they would have gone straight in the bin so there is always hope! 😃

What a fabulous photo Ali, you've captured the waves at their best. I'm glad you got out and it really is blowing out the cobwebs weather.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more of your water colours.

Enjoy the rest of yiur evening.

No cobwebs after that I am sure. Might have even blown mine away.

Probably, it was so blowy but not cold 🙂

Lovely photo, always makes me feel better to sit on the beach for a while - though I’ve been avoiding it lately - I failed my first driving test near where you took your picture! 😂 I live a bit further north along the coast.

Oh really. It was lovely there and quite.

Hello Agoodenough

I used to find that when my batteries run low a walk along a deserted beach with pounding waves beside me, the sun in my eyes used to recharge all my batteries within minutes. An amazing feeling.

Unfortunately through mobility problems now I have been unable to do the above for too many years. So l say to you enjoy, love and embrace your freedom, you are extremely fortunate.

I'm sorry you cant experience that anymore. I agree I am lucky and I dont take it for granted. I too would struggle not being able to recharge my batteries in this way x

Thank you Agoodenough

Thank you so very much for your message of yesterday, it was very kind of you to reply.

I am hoping that after lockdown I will be able to leave home and spend some time in a local park, watching life go by in its many forms.

Fortunately we humans have memories to call on to reminisce of the good days past and photographs to look at. l am afraid I have become a “l remember when “ individual. Such is life!

I have always enjoyed my free time during my life to take full advantage of what my life has provided, so l do have plenty of those happy adventures to remember.

Thank you again, enjoy those beautiful walks, best wishes footgo.

My now daughter in law used to live on Sandgate seafront in a really old building - in small top floor flat . The views were spectacular.I think she will move back there as a family but bought a new build in Ashford to get on the housing ladder as my son was a first time buyer so they got discounts etc .

Oh really. That’s interesting. It’s got new shops and cafes etc now. (If they are allowed to open) thought it seemed nice. I live just outside of Ashford 🙂

It certainly was! 🙂

We live in Folkestone and love going to Hythe and Sandgate to get a good fresh air walk! Love the photo xx

Did you manage to avoid the crowds. It looked horrendous at Bournemouth!

Oh yes, not busy at all. It’s a stone beach and it’s never that busy even in the height of summer. Bournemouth and Margate looked awful.
