My daughter's sketches

Hi all

I hope you've all had a good day today.

I saw my family today and our eldest daughter brought her sketches that she had drawn quite a few years ago now and here they are. I think she gets her talent from her granddad, my dad as when he was alive he was amazing at sketching and I'm going to share one of his sketches in a separate post as I cannot group it together with my daughter's as it doesn't come out well.

As for me, I cannot draw at all.

I hope you enjoy them.

Alicia :)

I've seen your post featuring your dad's sketch, along with the ones done by your daughter they're beautiful

in reply to Jennymary

Thank you Jennymary, my dad loved sketching as does my daughter. 🙏🌈😊

Thank you. She was in her teens/early 20's when she drew these. I'm so pleased she kept them. 🙏🌈😊

Wow what a talented father you had. Your daughter obviously takes after him. What super sketches. Very talented, you must be ever so proud. Did she take anything up along these lines professionally. 😊🌼

in reply to bobbybobb

Thank you Bobby, she seems to have inherited her grandad's skill. Yes I am. She hasn't taken this up professionally but finds it relaxing xx🙏🌈😊

Thank you Hidden , she really does enjoy sketching.😊🌈🙏

They are beautiful, your daughter has certainly got talent. My dad could sketch anything at a drop of a hat, he must have got his talent from his father who was a monumental stone mason ( he carved Angel's etc. for graves). Dad was the eldest of 5 children & was the only one who could draw. I spent 2 years at art school & now never do any art, my brother had his school art put in an exhibition in London. Chris

in reply to Ilovebunnies

Thank you and she gets it from her grandad, my dad, as he wa very good. Isn't it funny you learn something and then don't practice it.

Wow, your brother must be so good.

He was, his work stayed in a London gallery for the whole school holidays but when he left school he never touched art again. Sad really when you show that much talent, instead of art he started playing an electric guitar & the group of lads travelled all over England opening for top of the bill acts - Jethro Tull, Status Quo etc. In the melody maker (I think) he was rated in the top 5 lead guitarists in the West Country. We were very proud of him. Chris

in reply to Ilovebunnies

Shame he doesn't practice art anymore but what a talent with the guitar, that's amazing and well done to him.

He has now passed away in Australia & I couldn't be with him (last member of my immediate family). He gave up playing when his heart got too bad & hospital said there was nothing more they could do. It was so sad because after nearly 30 years on transplant list (Australia do heart & lungs) he was too ill to have it done. So sad. Chris

in reply to Ilovebunnies

Oh I'm so sorry, someone taken away far too young. I really feel for you, my thoughts are with you.

So very sad.

That is very good. Horses are notoriously hard to draw. You are making me feel very inadequate this morning.😂 I could draw a horse and a cat and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. In fact you probably wouldn't even be able to tell if they were animal, vegetable or mineral.😱x

in reply to Sheila_G

Thank you.

Don't worry Sheila as join the club, I can barely draw a stick man ha ha.

She certainly has a talent and us really good. My son drew a picture of Mum for my Dad after Mum had sadly died. It brought tears to everyone's eyes. It is brilliant! In took a photo of it, now , how do I get it from my photos to the forum?!? I'm just really stupid where computers. Lots of love Lynne xxxx ❤️🤗🌈💜

in reply to

Thank you and she really does.

Oh I bet it did but what a lovely thing to do. All I did was take a photo of my daughter's sketches using my phone and adding a photo to my post. So you write what you want to write, go to the blue add a photo bar at the bottom and then click it and choose the photo you want to add.

They're both very talented. Those are really good detailed drawings.

in reply to cljones

Thank you, I think it skipped a generation as I can't draw and ended up with my daughter being able to draw.🙏😊🌈

Loved the sketches !!! I will offer a short simple poem

HILL COUNTRY SONG

What did I do to-day?

I watched the deer

move slowly from the shade

of the sheltering trees

Such grace brings pleasure

to the inner eye,

and leaves a lingering

smile all day

Deersoft evening warmth,

I watched the clouds

sail grandly overhead

across gentle hills.

Reeds swaying, singing,

rippling water glides

'neath an azure sky

to sundown.

in reply to Noosat

Oh I love the poem, really brought a smile to my face 🌈🌼🙏

I wish I could show the poster for Pearl Drop toothpaste I did many years ago . How do I post online. I’m self taught with the computer and any advice would be gratefully received.

in reply to Tahiri

I remember that toothpaste.

If you take a photo of the poster using your mobile you can add the imagine underneath your post using the add photo blue bar.

Hope this helps.

What is an ad image blue bar. Not a clue x

in reply to Tahiri

If you go to the top of the page under the title of the group you're in ie. this group, you will see a blue bar that has write on it, click on that, compose your post giving it a title and then choose 'add photo'.

I hope this helps. xx
