I've suffered with breathing problems all of my adult life and was diagnosed with bronchiectasis/asthma about 6 yrs ago. However I recently had a telephone appt with consultant and received a letter with diagnosis stating chronic eosonphyllic asthma and I'm now confused. Anyone else had similar??

Hi Jonn54,
Sorry to hear of your health challenges.
On the one hand it must have been good to have that consultation as it's reassuring to be in touch with a health professional during these uncertain times, but isn't it just too bad when they then contact you and use terms you don't understand?
You could, of course, look this up on the internet and it might give you some kind of insight, but I'm not a huge fan of that as, if you hit upon the wrong site, you can get wrong, or confusing information and advice.
I'm pretty sure your GP will be getting a copy of this letter too, but in any case, you should probably ask for a follow-up telephone consultation with your GP and ask about anything at all contained in the letter, which is confusing you.
It's just so confusing the consultant never mentioned that latest diagnosis, but on the positive side it appears there maybe more treatments available.
Hi John, as a member of the British Lung Foundation with both Asthma and Bronchiectasis, I think you might do well to post your question on the BLF forum on here. The members all have experience in our various diseases. You will get a friendly welcome and make many lung buddies. All the best.
