A 'Simple' but lovely time

Dear All,

Has everyone seen the Film, based on the Steven King Book, 'The Green Mile'. The Brilliant Michael Clarke Duncan, plays John Coffey. I only mention this because, in one scene, he is taken 'outside', for the first time in probably years. 'John' is fascinated by the Smell of grass.... Well I Felt THAT today, MY First Time 'Outside', and 'they' had just cut the grass😁.

I was only Downstairs, for a few minutes- just long enough to Check the Post, breath in the Fresh air and.... 'Fuss' our Beautiful cat, Tigger😺😸😹. What a 'Love' he is.

I hope to 'Venture' further tomorrow, my Mother is coming over- I haven't seen her since Mother's Day- and we will go for a short walk. There is a small Wood, not too far, from me, I think we might see if we can get there.

I'm am Looking Forward, to it, even if it is only a 'few' minutes…..

Yes, I saw that Andrew a few years ago. What a brilliant film it was too. My sister gave me the DVD just after it was released and hubby and me were glued to the TV set. Michael Clarke Duncan was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. To be honest though, I thought they were all brilliant. x

Dear springcross,

Talking of Brilliant films, I have just watched 'Gorillas In The Mist', the Dian Fossey Story- staring Sigourney Weaver (yes, that's right, of Alien fame).

I also have ALL the 'Morse', with John Thaw, All the 'Johnathan Creek' with Alan Davies, Twelve Sir Norman Wisdom Films and- in Bids, a couple of years ago now, Both ALL the 'House' series, starring Hugh Laurie and the Complete Prisoner Series, starring Patrick McGoohan. To name but a few. I honestly don't know, just how many, individual 'Films'/ Documentaries I have- it MUST be in the Thousands.....I've even got a pack of Fourteen Hitchcock films (Funnily enough I Don't have 'North By North West').

Another, very good Film, is The Elephant Man, starring John Hurt. It is the Story of John Merrick a, severely Physically 'Damaged' man, who was Rescued by- I can't remember which- Harley Street Doctor. It turned out that John Merrick, far from being a 'Simpleton', was a Very Intelligent man- who spoke, I believe, five languages. A 'Match Stick' model, made by John, still exists.

If, and it's a Big 'If', you can find it- I'm not sure it's on Film though- is the 'story' of Bounty, from the 'Point Of View' of Second Left Tenant (Captain) Bligh. Blight was an, extremely good, Seaman and from where he was 'Set Adrift' he Navigated, his way, back to England. Bligh used Only a Sextant, the Sun and Stars and made the voyage in One- loosing not One man. Does this 'fit' with the Evil Man, who denied his crew Water and Flogged then 'Within Inches' of their lives- Food for thought perhaps?

Just a few 'thoughts' anyway.

Dear springcross,

Yes, actually based on a Stephen king SHORT story...' Reta Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption'.-I forget which book it is from. The Wonderful Tim Robbins, as Andy. I have Box Set of 'Band Of Brothers', the Tom Hanks starring/ inspired by collection of Films. Oh and we mustn't forget Shrek, or Ice Age. The old film 'It's a Wonderful Life'.... 'way to go Clarence'.

There are, quite a few, very 'watchable' films out there- along with, what I generously call 'Popcorn' Films- you know the sort.

All good Stuff.

The Green Mile, what a great film it is. The smell of freshly cut grass, is pleasant. I hope you have a lovely walk with your mum tomorrow. 😊

That sounds like a good day and gives you something to look forward to with your mom coming over.

A walk in the woods will be just the thing.

Its a wonderful film and was only talking about it other day but couldn't remember actors name. Glad you enjoyed your short venture out and hope tomorrow even better which of course it will be as seeing mum. The smell of newly cut grass is lovely BUT it sets my hay fever off, runny nose and eyes not a pretty look
