Be happy ๐Ÿ™‚

I like this quote. I think itโ€™s a big step forward in life when you realise that you have to choose to be happy you canโ€™t just wait and see what sort of day youโ€™ll have and how it will affect you. You need to take control. I wish I knew this when I was younger.

I especially had to remember this first thing this morning when I tilted the tray of white emulsion paint on my reasonably new carpet ๐Ÿ™„

Think I should just stick to watercolours. (Hope Phil doesnโ€™t read this as Iโ€™m hoping to not have to tell him Iโ€™ve spilt the paint on the carpet ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Iโ€™m going to have a coffee now and try and keep myself out of mischief!

Ali

I'm so sorry about the emulsion - that must have been quite a challenge to the decision to be happy! But well done you for staying with it.

Good morning

The quote is uplifting and powerful for us to see what is limiting

You must have been heartbroken to see the emulsion spill onto your new carpet

Have you been able to clean the carpet?

Couldnโ€™t believe it. Only had the carpet fitted last year. Yes thank you I looked on line and it said let it dry which didnโ€™t seem to be right so I flooded it with water and dabbed it up. It was a puddle the size of my hand and a line about two foot long. Fingers crossed it will be okay.

Iโ€™m glad you found the quote uplifting Roukaya ๐Ÿ™‚

Thatโ€™s an interesting concept. Being content without being happy. Thatโ€™s true.

Oh no. What a disaster. I should have asked you how to get it out of the carpet now I know youโ€™re an expert ๐Ÿฆถ ๐Ÿฆถ

Poor Willow haha. I think Phil wonโ€™t care who did It but will be more than relieved it wasnโ€™t him ๐Ÿ˜. I decided to flood it off the carpet. Not easy. Hopefully it will dry out and if not it will just be a water mark and not a white paint mark.

I also spilt it on the patio. Hence itโ€™s not my day for painting so Iโ€™ve put it all away and will try again another day!

I hope you have a good day ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒž

Beware Ali, things have a habit of coming in 3's :-); well for me they do! Now you've "done" the carpet, you can go outside and enjoy your garden; if you have one.

Yes that sounds like a plan. I canโ€™t do much damage out there ๐Ÿ˜

I absolutely agree Agoodenough! 'Perfect' is subjective anyway. You can't make every day great, but you can work towards making it better and accept that life's full of imperfections. Enjoy your coffee, and yes, do stay out of mischief! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™

Yes it is isnt it. I see things like spilling the paint a challenge to test me and I'd say I passed ๐Ÿ˜† x

I hope you are well

I am in the process of trying to obtain home insurance cover and I wonder if your home contents insurance has accidental cover

If this is the case you could make a claim but this may affect the premium on your subsequent policy

That's so kind of you.. Thank you. No I only have buildings insurance not contents. I think I've got it all out. What a panic! Glad I did it whilst it was wet. It was 50/50 whether it would make it better or worse and it seems to have worked. Tomorrow will reveal all, once its dried! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

What an excellent quote Ali and I totally agree with you in that something I should have adhered to when I was younger.

Oops, I hope you're able to get the paint out of the carpet, I won't tell Phil, honest๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™ƒ๐ŸŒˆ

Bless you, thank goodness it only went on to the carpet and not into your eyes.

Yes that would have been a whole lot worse!

I felt for you and admired how you handled it, thank goodness it wasnโ€™t emulsion paint ๐Ÿ˜ณ Making a mess was another reason that I changed to working with digital paint. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was emulsion! I was painting the inside wall. Spilt it on the carpet out of the roller tray whilst checking Iโ€™d covered the area ๐Ÿ˜‚

in reply to Agoodenough

OMG now Iโ€™m hyperventilating! You did so well to clean that up!

Agoodenough profile image
Agoodenough in reply to

Well this is it. I canโ€™t believe it came out. I nearly died when I saw it. I got a bucket and a sponge and squeezed water on to it and soaked up the water and paint with a towel. I thought Iโ€™d have to get a new carpet! At least it wasnโ€™t gloss paint! Funny thing is I was checking to see if Iโ€™d covered the wall ok and tipped up the paint tray. First Puddle of paint, then I must have stepped back again and had a 2 foot line of paint coming away from the first splodge haha ๐Ÿคฃ itโ€™s wasnโ€™t a whole tin but about a cup full then the line of paint ๐Ÿ™„
