what do you take a stand on behalf of?

The more that we allow our hearts to expand to love, deeply appreciate, and feel inextricably tied to the places, things and people of this world, the more we are likely to take a stand on behalf of what we value.

My heart's for life's Carers. Those who put their lives on hold to care for someone else, through compassion, love or both. And they have to do it because often the cared-for are all but forgotten by government, as the current crisis has shown.

we would not need to ask them this question, would we?

I try to do my bit to support and stand up for farmed animals that don’t have a voice.

Well done. That’s so good to hear 💚

I feel for the homeless, I can’t imagine how awful it would be not to have a nice warm bed.

Is there any actionable step you can take?

I support the Salvation Army, giving donations and making cards for them to sell.

I shall keep a record of these words to constantly remind me of the importance of standing up for what I believe in. Thanks woody.

That's how I feel too! There will always be one that's just right for an occasion or in a time of need. And like you, I've been collecting meaningful poems and quotes for a while now. I really admire people who can put feelings into words!

Are you enjoying the nice weather? I've been doing a bit in the garden, but would have liked to have had some more plants. I still can't go out to places like a garden centre as I'm in the shielded group. I have a lovely lot of hostas though with variagated leaves. I'm out every evening looking for slugs as they love host as. I enjoy sitting in the garden too and love watching the birds. Nice westher is forcast for the rest of the week too! Take care.

Cheers for now.

My stand is for morals and honesty . My neighbour answered a call from her 'bank' , She is 86 and also quite hard of hearing . She gave her details over the phone and today she is almost £700 lighter . It is also difficult to sort out without chatting face to face with somebody .

I sign petitions for many unjustifiable actions going on around the world. I put food in the food bank, put food in the boxes for the dogs and cats trust's. I carry a care bag in the boot for the homeless guy I see, it normally contains stuff like, hand wipes, cereal bars, biscuits, socks. I always ask if he wants to use my phone to call anyone. I ask him what he's been up to and how he is doing. I have the phone number for rough sleepers, you can ring them if you see a homeless person on the streets in cold weather. They will go out and try to help. All the homeless have been taken off the streets currently due to the virus. I donate a small amount each month to the local children hospice through the bank. I don't like suffering and although we can't help everyone we see, we must do our best to help in some small way and that could be just spending a couple of minutes to speak with someone who has no one. That only costs your time. 🌸🌷

I used to do that in my previous town, and got to know several of the rough sleepers there.

Agreed, sharing our time is the most valuable thing we can do. Feeling invisible feels worse than the coldest cold.

Hi, I wish I could do my own food shopping. My daughter does it for me as I have to stay at home shielding. The problem with that is I can't always know what I need, apart from The basics. I like to walk up the aisles in the supermarket slowl,y, as that's how I spot items I want. Yes, you can also get plants at supermarkets which can be useful when you are food shopping at the same time. I wanted a few perennials to fill gaps in the borders but Ill have to manage without until its safer to get out and about.

Beside gardening do you have any other hobbies?

I'm learning conversational Welsh online at the moment. A member on the Forum recommended it and its the best Welsh language course I've done so far. I'm really enjoying it. When this virus thing has passed (if ever) I hope to join a Social Group to encourage the speaking of Welsh. It's something to look forward to in the future.

I believe you live near Bridgend. I live near Ogmore by Sea.

Cheers for now.

😁💟

Ooh, How did you find a course for conversational Welsh, please?

I'm in Pembroke Dock and the Library used to do a Coffi y Cymru conversation group, but with Libraries closed I'm stuck!

Cheers, Midori

For me its Injustice, in whatever area of life.

I'm an inveterate Petition signer and sharer, as I can't go out and protest any more; although I used to when younger and fitter.

Cheers, Midori

thanks for taking the time to listen to petitioners and participate. I've not enjoyed many aspects of aging but having the time for listening is one of them.
