Imipramine usage

I am suffering with antinatal depression and have been advised to try imipramine. It worries me. Has anyine else used this during pregnancy?

Sorry don't have any experience of this drug during pregnancy so can't advise. Just from googling several sites say this drug's safety has not been established in pregnancy and should only be taken when benefits to mother outweigh risks to baby.

Do you know why you were prescribed this drug? I'm no medical expert so can't advise, but there are other drugs that have been researched during pregnancy and deemed safe (all drugs carry risks but side effects are very very low).

If you are concerned go and see your gp, or even visit a pharmacist who can give you advice. Your health is very important now and if you feel well it will only benefit baby.
