I have been off prednisone and actemra since mid July this year. I keep having sweats. On even slight activity, eating warm food. Anyone else have this post prednisone experience.

thanks.

If you look at FAQs you should find plenty of info, or just put sweats into search field. This topic comes up frequently, as it’s a common issue! Lots of us sweat so much it simply drips off..at higher doses of pred I walked around with a towel round my shoulders.

thanks. I thought after I stopped pred it would stop.

It can take anything up to a year for your body to settle back down again after finishing Pred -so would say your adrenals which control so many things including body temperatures are still not fully functioning.

Oh, I think it takes some time before all goes back to normal, I’m afraid. But the reason I suggested searching is that not many comments seem to come from people who are off pred, so I thought you may need to search. My sweating has lessened somewhat now I’m down to 5mg, but not gone, sadly!

It is probably your body still needing to settle down to work properly - it can take up to a year for the really complicated adrenal function to get its act together,

Happy New Year to everyone. Hi. Alvertta. I can completely agree with Dorset Lady and PMR pro. It took my body seven months to stop the nightly sweats after stopping prednisolone last November 2021. Alot of " symptoms " persisted until August 2022. I consider myself about 95% back to good health now. So lots to be grateful for but I still want the extra 5% back!! So I'm working on it. Take care.
