Nuffield Joint Pain Programme

Has anyone come across this free programme? It's a 12 week course (two separate hours every week for 12 weeks) and offered throughout England. It's free and looks like it includes PMR.

There isn't availability where I am at the moment but I wondered if anyone here has experience of the programme.

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. I've just submitted an application. Fingers crossed I get a place. Anything is worth a try to build up some strength whilst not aggravating the condition.

Hi , I finished the 12 week programme a month ago. It was 1st class. Small group of 9 people all different problems but all struggling with joint pain or mobility problems. You do need to commit to attending twice a week but the benefits to me have been huge. Started off very very gently doing chair exercises or stood next to chair if you can and then progressing as you are able. Introduced to many forms of exercise and muscle strengthening an absolute must for those of us on long term steroids and or arthritis. Anybody with P.M.R. will benefit. Also was given free membership to all club facilities for 6 months including pools and all exercise classes. I thought it was a little to good to be true however its a part of them being a non profit making charity. Good Luck

I wish I could do this. There is one near to me but I am having a foot operation on 1st July so won't be able to get to the sessions with my foot in plaster
