Had my 3rd covid jab and a flu jab yesterday, slight tenderness to arms and thats all, however, the person administering the shots said to miss the next 2 doses of Methotrexate. (I stopped pred. fully 9 months ago and switched to weekly injections) I'm waiting to hear from west suffolk to hear if this is correct, nhs online does not seem very clear on this, Has any on else had similar advice?

I had my Vaccine on Friday felt like l’d been run over by a bus! Still not back to ‘usual’ but much better than on Friday Afternoon/Sunday! I didn’t even know l’d had the AZ 😑

Keep in touch & see how we go! I’ve been drinking plenty of liquids & l’m resting on the bed sorting out some boxes 😉

I'm not doing anything, just sitting about....sipping lots of tea, and now watching the rain....even though they said dry all day!..

Will keep in touch..👍

I haven’t had a reply yet from the rheumatologist at west Suffolk but as soon as I do I will let you know their opinion, in the meantime stay warm and safe.

Hello! just been in touch with specialist nurse from west suffolk hospital, apparently you are advised to stop methotrexate for 2 weeks so the vaccine achieves full strength, but if you are having a flare or are in discomfort there is no physical harm in taking the methotrexate jab. Personally I feel fairly good at the moment so I will miss at least this weeks dose. I hope this helps. (The treatment I've had from Bury has been excellent, I trust their advice and judgment) I hope any side effects wear off soon, Stay warm and safe!

Hi, at the moment I feel good, very localised ache in each arm, left arm 'flu jab, right arm covid , (Almost like the "dead legs" the bullies at school used to inflict on you!)

I know that feeling - take plenty of rest & fluids especially as you’ve had both 🍀

No not at all. I too use Mtx by injection and was not given this advice either by the GP who administered the 'flu vaccine or nurse who did the Pfizer C-19 vaccine. I only experienced slight swelling and associated pain at the injection site after both. Where has this advice come from?

Hi I was told to miss 2 doses of methotrexate after 3rd covid vaccine by Dr Mackie. Had mine on Saturday felt a bit fluey on Sunday but ok since. Hopefully it means we have mounted some sort of response 🤞

My rheumatologist advised me not to stop the methotrexate(tablets, not injection) as don't want to risk a flare up. I have GCA, already lost sight in one eye, don't want to lose the other. However, I did decide to take a half dose the first week, 7 1/2mg instead of 15.

Hi. I had the Johnson &Johnson vaccine in April. Hoping we'll be given the opportunity of getting a booster. If we do, my rheumatologist advised me to stop methotrexate for 2 weeks both before and after the booster. My GCA/PMR is currently, thankfully, well controlled. I weaned off Prednisone last year and am currently down to 7.5mg oral methotrexate a week. I was diagnosed 7 years ago.

I was not given this advice, but I'm not sure who would! Had third vaccine on Monday and have felt even lousier than usual since Tuesday afternoon. I have had Pfizer all three times, but didn't have any reaction to the first two. But in view of your info, maybe I won't take the Mtx this week. Thanks.🙂
