My question is - Are the vaccines for covid19 effective for people with suppressed immune systems?
In other words, if you are taking steroids. I have heard debates on radio where some scientists think not. I will still have it when called in but I am not going to be too confident about it and carry on keeping away from crowded places. What do other people think?

Much the same as for the flu vaccine. I shall take mine gratefully and continue with distancing, hygiene and a mask for some time to come until the incidence amongst the general population falls. Even after both jabs, you will have to wait a few weeks for optimum cover.
I've had my first jab and get my second on the 13th Jan. I am positive it will work but like the flu jab I expect so we still have to be careful. I don't know if I had any reaction as I am only 8 weeks into pmr and all the side effects from that are something I'm still experiencing. Better now so maybe I didn't get any. Nobody I'm sure would want covid so please just go for it like you say you will when you get the chance and think positive. You sound like you will do the right thing and still keep safe. Good luck.
