I gout pseudo gout in the knee - cause too much calcium...........as usual, the give you 'just in case' when first diagnosed and within six months.............so the Rheumy sorted it out and I stopped all 'just in cases' and said with a smile, OK we now deal with whatever actually happens. They just said OK.
So I suggest, when you can, ask for a full spectrum blood test. Mind at present I suspect you might have to wait a while a) for the taking of the test and b) for the result.

There is no reason why true gout should be associated with GCA. As jinasc says - psuedogout may be associated with excessive calcium intake.
