Walking on ice

Have had these for some years. Think we bought them off amazon but memory not what it was. Put on over usual shoes, feel a lot more stable as they grip quite well.

Nothing beats these: icers.ca/

I've had mine, in their original somewhat less fancy form, for about 25 years. The studs are replaceable.

Those look even better especially as they lift your boots off the ice or compact snow. Many thanks for the link. ☃️

They're easy to use as you just stand on them and fasten two velcro straps on each. Not even any pulling on!

I have great big metal clunky things as I couldnt pull the rubber of my old ones. Always good to get the pull ons or you can buy shoes or boots with ice tread. ❄️🌻

Thank you for this useful thread. My usual boots have a slight heel so I would need a basic trainer as well, I guess. Are they hard to put on? Currently my fingers are not strong and I can’t bend for long.

In that case if you have the money buy proper ice boots. If I did I would. I know we don't need them that often but on the ups and downs. Eeeeek! ⛷️

Really useful thank you , with the wobbles sometimes things like this which we mightn't have normally used before on icy or snowy days do make a big difference to how confident we are getting around and can help prevent Falls that we aren't quite as good at avoiding because of our change in balance.
