Asthma Review and Prednisolone

Just had my annual asthma review and it came as no surprise that it’s quiet stable. My asthma nurse confirmed that taking steroids usually makes this possible. Interesting,

Prednisolone will make your asthma more stable as the effects of it will reduce the inflammation that can cause asthma.

Many Severe or Brittle Asthmatics also take long term oral steroids alongside their inhalers.

You are so correct, without pred my friend who has COPD (has portable oxygen pack as well, would not be here. At present two weeks on 5mg - 3 weeks off etc. His Consultants, GP and contact Nurses, do not seem to know the words 'long term'.
