Raising awareness and support for PMRGCAuk ... climbing an Ultimate Mountain

I'm still in remission with Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and as the PMRGCA North East coordinator I'm raising awareness and support for PMRGCAuk by climbing one of the world's highest, coldest, remotest and most dangerous mountains in the high Nepal Himalayas in October/November. I'm on a 32-day expedition attempting to climb Annapurna IV (7525m / 24,600ft) of which the consequences of severe weather, high altitude and the mountain environment will test me to my limits physically, mentally and physiologically. Thank you so much. My training is going very well both physically and mentally. It's a wonder what the human body can do. I hope to raise the PMRGCAuk flag on the summit. Kind regards - Skinnyjonny :-)

Thank you for your donation. I'm really getting into my training and although I know it will be an extreme physical, mental and physiological challenge I'll be ready for it. I love the culture, the Nepalese people, the mountains ... every day will be a bonus for PMRGCA. Kind regards - Skinnyjonny :-)

Done,

enjoy - well as much as you can!

My son has been to Nepal a couple of times in his single and free days - but not as ambitious as you!

Thank you for your support ... it means so much to me when I'm on the mountain knowing that I have all this strength back home. I'm ready for the challenge now and hopefully the whole plan comes together with a wee bit of luck as far as the weather, altitude and mountain environment is concerned. Thanks again - Skinnyjonny x

Thank you. I'll be enjoying every moment and experience. It's about the whole journey and with a wee bit of luck, a good weather window, no avalanches etc ... we may top out on the summit. Thanks again for the support ... it means a lot to me. Skinnyjonny x

Good luck with the challenge, really impressed you're doing this and take my hat off to you. You've done so well to get your fitness back up, wonderful! Gives hope to us all! I'll be thinking of you the next time I'm trying to do my 10,000 steps and wondering if I can do it, you'll be inspiring me from now on! 🤣
