Here goes, raised bed one day after it had been put in. I have another two in the back and two in the front.

Wow it worked, I have learnt something new once again............thank you. I must take another as the fence is now smothered in roses, clematis etc.

Wow, it is beautiful and just what I need. Thanks for that your view is lovely too. I will definitely save up and buy sleepers and get my family to do the manual labour. That should save money. Thank you for posting. Hopefully will encourage fellow PMR-ers that there are ways to keep gardening. 🌻

Well done for adding photo. I was hoping my instructions made sense!

Whilst I remember, if you need additional soil, make sure it is topsoil. Compost lacks much of what you need in soil.

Wil do.

Wonderful view jinasc. The beds should keep you active and healthy.

I'm becoming a couch potato I fear!😏

You are never a couch potato and never will be...........you always think of others. 😊

I have known you since I was mrsK remember.

How is MrsK keeping?😂 We've been "together" for many years now. I'm catching up - 80 in two weeks time. Plod rather than skip these days, but still here and still moving.

That you sitting on the fence? ;)

A raised bed in some way is ideal for us with PMR or, indeed, many disabilities - and there are all sorts of ways to achieve it which needn't cost a fortune.

I do love sitting in that garden looking across to Gateshead. Especially in the dusk as the lights come on. I could live there!

Cheeky Youngster.

That is why I bought it twice.....................broke my heart when I had to leave it for London and my work. I was so lucky it came back on market when I was just retiring.

I did send Poopadoop a photo of you with me at the 80th bash, we are both smiling.

l did not send the one where I was shouting 'go away' to the person with the camera. It made Joan and I smile this morning re-looking at those photos.

I also sent the front of the cottage.

All because a lady (who shall be nameless) posted about planting.

Just ordered a long handled bulb planter as we have ordered 100 bulbs. Splitting them between us as we got 50 for £14.99 and if we paid a 1p more we got double, no brainer. 😊 except I have now spent money to put them in..............I never learn. 😉

Enough off piste !!!!!

But it isn't really off-piste - it is showing how activities don't have to be a no-no just because of any disability due to PMR/GCA or age. You just have to think outside the box. And when you know - you tell those who don't know.

You are right..................I was not thinking,

Gardens can do a lot to raise the mood for people who may be bound to the house for a while with pmrgca and once planted, you can get the 10min sit out and recharge the batteries. Of course gardens are never truly finished. 😁

How true.....................my garden kept me sane all through 5 long years with GCA.

One winter I took my coffee out and brushed the snow off the seat and just sat, mind I had a brandy in the coffee.

My garden is my sanctuary...to sit in...OH does it all, it`s very high maintenance, but at present he enjoys it, I wish I knew how to upload a photo...have about 30 sunflowers today smiling at me today...look lovely from my summerhouse.....

in reply to Longtimer

Lovely. Next time you do a post put them on as a photo. I only gives you the option as the first poster.

Looks lovely. We are big fans of clematis, and have over 30 of them in our small garden just outside Leamington Spa. If I was competent enough to be able to do it, I would add a photo!

I have to say that it's mostly the garden that keeps us going.

Cheers and well done.

You can, Poopadoop told me how and if I can do it so can you.

Write a new post (and title Off Piste Garden)

The look at the bottom and it has photo and what you do.

😉😉

Give it a go, we are never too old or young to learn.

Thanks, I'll give it a go, and see how I get on. Can't say I'm very confident though knowing my computer skills.
