Don't take medication in a dark room.

Yesterday night I fumbled for my 5mg and 1mg of prednisone and took it with a little yogurt.

This morning I couldn't pull myself up out of bed. All my pmr symptoms were back.

Silly me, I had mistaken an aspirin tablet instead of my 5 mg of prednisone. The 1mg was in a round plastic tub, but the prednisone is in one of those pop strips , identical to aspirin..

From now on I shall prepare everything ahead of going to bed. Old age kicking in...feather headed.

Such a silly thing to happen, that's why I want to warn other pmr sufferers.

Happens to everyone at some point! I trust you took the 5mg pronto?

Pronto, most definitely, you can be sure of that. 😂

At first when i read the title, i read it as a photo dark room. I spent a few seconds trying to think which chemicals might effect pred. Of course i then thought better read it. Its so easy to pop the wrong pill. I was convinced the other day that i had taken 1mg extra of pred instead of my thyroid pill. I will never know i dont suppose. It's my own fault as i had packets out in a line as i can't pick up tbe pills easily if i pre-pop them.

I hope you caught up quickly tbe same day!

This shows for a fact that an ordinary painkiller is no substitute for pred! Glad you are okay now!

Well, you’ve proved that aspirin doesn’t help PMR much. I put all my pills in one pot the night before and I take them with a glass of water at 6am without opening my eyes. I must be doing it ok because I often find the pot empty and my husband denies taking them!

Happened to me too! I keep my pred tablets pre-counted, in a glass shot glass next to my bedside with a yogurt tube (or half banana) and a glass of water.

I’ve woken up sore and later found tablets stuck to the bottom of the shot glass. One time I got up at 2am, ate the banana, drank the water and forgot to take the tablets altogether! (sigh)

That last part of your post did make me giggle. So no more shots for you then. 😀

So easy to make a mistake, especially in the dark . All my tablets come in pop out packs and sometimes I can almost get confused even in the light! I've not yet taken the wrong one. Last night I popped out a mg of Prednisolone instead of 10mg amitryptaline. Luckily the amitryptaline are blue so I realised fairly quickly. I've made similar mistakes before and, so far, always realised in time.

I'm sure we've all done something like that. I even make mistakes when I forget my glasses..I THINK I make it our properly in the middle of the night.. BUT
