Good news/bad news

My newest grandson arrived on Thursday, 8lb 1oz of loveliness (good news). I start with my periodic swollen glands in neck, high fever and loss of voice on Monday, culminating in a thoroughly stinking cold meaning I can't visit the wee boy until free of germs (bad news). Feeling right fed up now, could have done with a bit of a boost. Anyhoo when I do get to visit my bundle of joy it will all the more enjoying. It's bound to take my mind off my ruddy aches and pains.

Yup... Each week is a new adventure! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm learning to just roll with it... and take the healthy days as oddities and the sick days as normal!

It's like I live in "opposite" world! 😳

The new parents are much more keen to hand the baby over after a week or so, they are so exhausted. Then you can steal him away Granny! 😉

Congratulations Trish! Post a pic when you can. My OH and I came down with a flu type bug when my first UK grandson was born. Sooo frustrating! I reckon it was a combination of anxiety and excitement. Joy to come!

Look after yourself, Trish, lots of lemon and honey, warm bed rest, try not to fret about the delay in meeting your lovely new grandson, the less you do the faster you'll get better - hugs x (If you knit maybe make a quick pair of bootees, sez she who tangles wool by looking at it!)

Congratulations on your grandson. Commiserations on a cold and delay in seeing him. x

Oh oh oh a baby! I missed having wee ones, my son married into his family. The youngest was 4. He asked if I felt robbed and I told him he chose fantastic so don’t mess with it. He adopted her when she was thirteen worried if anything happened to mom he would lose his family. Joel was already 18. I laughed so hard when he called and said Mama you are the proud gma of a bouncing thirteen year old. I did however miss the itty bitty baby stuff. 😷. So, I said all that because I talk a lot, but to also let you know once you are better well you will be in baby heaven.

Same for me. My son started seeing a woman with two boys (aged 3 and 7). He always was so good with kids growing up, I just felt he would have a family some day.

Sure enough they fell in love, and now he’s building a house in our town and the whole bunch of them will make it their home. He loves them like they are his own....and now so do I.

I was never much of a “baby/children” person, nor was I anticipating being a grandmother, but geez those two sweet boys stole my heart.

Yeah my twin was the more baby person. She wanted 12. My son has made me so proud of the dad he ended up being. He thanked me when he was 33 for being a good mom n teaching him right. It was a moment for sure.
