Tendonitis in foot?

Laying on bed in hotel in Thailand on day 5 of 21 day holiday in S E Asia unable to walk.

I was prepared to be hot and exhausted but not to be hobbling. Somehow i have to keep going and spend a lot of time in hotel rooms while everyone goes sightseeing.

Just glad we are all together for the next few weeks. 9yr old grandson has been vomiting all night. Oh joy. Things could be worse I suppose. Best wishes to you all. I kmow know lots of you are worse off than me.

Thanks. Im making the most of being with my family. We live 2 hrs away at home. Also while away my bathroom is being renovated. Something to look forward too. X

Oh Cheshy, how awful for you, you think you’re prepared for every eventuality then something else comes along & knocks you off your feet!

Take Care, Rest & Ice as Yogabonnie says.

Keep Well x

Hope Grandson improves soon too x

Thanks so much. I have a lovely view from my hotel room of the traffic below.

Strangely nowhere near as busy as I imagined Bangkok traffic would be. I have just eaten lunch of toast and jam

From room service. It is actually 4.26 pm

I think it qualifies as comfort food. X

Well you’re out of the heat & the noise so it maybe a blessing in disguise as an enforced rest.

Where are you off to next? x

Ha ha. I didn't really want to admit that to anyone. We catch a 3rd class train to Cambodia tomorrow morning. However I will really be disappointed if I miss Angkor Wat.

Probably havent spelt that correctly.

I am also consoling myself by reading "The Surgeon of Crowthorne" a tale of murder madness and the Oxford English Dictionary. Fantastic story.x

Oh Cheshy - 3rd Class, you are adventurous, I’d try for an upgrade on health grounds 😉

I’m sure it’ll all be amazing, l too am lying in my bed awaiting all my Meds to kick in, then it’s Photograph Day, all the boxes have been brought from Storage & are now to be organised before some are put in the loft (for now) & some in a Unit in the Study, but you know what it’s like when you open a box with old photos in!...........

Hope you’re better soon to enjoy xx

Good luck with that. We moved to our house in the country 7 mths ago and nothing has been sorted. I concentrated on getting my garden ready over the winter and now rewarded with a beautiful cottage garden x

Lovely, our garden’s on the list to start in the Spring, we had a fantastic walled garden in our old house, so time to sit down with the books & do some planning in January!

It’s amazing, you’re in Thailand & l’m in Telford chatting away & our only link is this Group!

Take Care xx

I wonder if you could get some Nordic walking poles from a sports shop. They really do take the strain. Masseuse from room service? There is nothing like being confined to bed with a good book. I think it’s my favourite thing. Hope your little grandson recovers quickly on his clear liquid diet. Hug then antiseptic wipes. Heal soon. X

I keep losing my replies. Here goes again

I will look into the nordic poles as I have joined the garden club and we went to some lovely country gardens. I was a bit wary walking around because it was at a open garden a couple of years ago that I fell flat on my face crashed mg knee so badly It set off horrible pain and inflammation which resulted in a knee replacement. My son in law Adrian, took

Barney to meet the others at The Reclining Buddha and he was promptly sick again. Oh dear. We leave early in the morning so hopefully a good nights sleep will fix us. X

No chance of acquiring a pair of crutches?

Not at this stage. I have them at home of course. I only have to get across to the station and after resting today and tonight should be okay. 5 hr train ride coming up.

Sounds simplistic but have you tried a gel insole - if they have a pharmacy in your area - they helped me walk with tendonitis - an instant relief at the time. I did have an injection much later on but thinking of a quick solution while you're on hols. Hope you can enjoy the rest of your hols and the sickness leaves your grandson very soon! Keep away from the bug....

Made it to Cambodia after a 5Hr train trip from Bangkok. Train stopped 6miles from the border we then changed to a bus and tuk tuks twice. The heat and humidity was shocki ng. Customs was a tin shed. I thought I would collapse. We left home 9 days ago and have not seen a pharmacy of any description. We we t to the big Temples of Angkor Wat. Today

I stayed outside and walked around to the back with my grand daughter. It took an hour. So seeing a lot from trains and buses. The time with family is wonderful. Thanks for your reply. X

You're making the most of it - good on you - lots of travelling is exhausting in itself but you are with your family and that is everything - enjoy every minute as best you can! I love to see these places. We went to Dominican Republic years ago - didn't know it was third world outside of the hotel complex! We went on a safari and saw some sights the people live in......made us feel quite humble.......so definitely understand the no pharmacy bit. Perhaps try the insoles when you get back into the land of the living - they'll put you on until you get further treatment. Happy hols. xx
