I have had PMR for 2yrs. I have had 3 parotid gland infections in last 15 months. Could there be link with PMR? Anyone else had this? Ultrasound shows no salivary stone.

One lady in the charity had this together with her PMR/GCA and there are quite a few people who have Sjögrens as well as PMR/GCA I think. Either may appear as "just" what is called sicca syndrome (sicca means dry) but which doesn't have any autoantibodies in the blood.

Are you under a rheumatologist or is the diagnosis so far by the GP?

Thank you for this info. I have rung GP and he has agreed to send me for scan. If nothing shows then to Maxillo facial. I have a review appt with rheumatologist in December so I have made a note to discuss with her as well. Many thanks.
