Well... it took me 11 months, 10 days and a handful of hours to get here; and "yes," there were some ugly, setbacks along the way, but DAMN IT, here I am! And I've gone from taking 80 mg of Pred daily, to taking only 20 mg of Pred! {humming the tune to Elton John's song, "I'm still standing"}
It's been a bumpy road, and there is still a long (and probably just as bumpy) road ahead of me, but the Rheumy said that I'd start to feel more like "myself," when I got down to 20 mg or less... so here I am, I'm ready!

OHHHH MY! I doubt the world would ever be the same, if that wish were granted! Can you imagine the FUN we'd have? Ahhh well, we will give it our BEST shot when you visit the UK! And thank you... I'm not sure if I was instrumental in getting to 20; I think I just went along for the ride, but for some weird reason it does feel like and accomplishment? I guess I could have easily off'd myself at 80 and would not have seen 70, 60, 50... but I persevered! Good on me! Thanks!!! Yes, it definitely seems more do-able!!!! I'll be happier when I'm in single digits!!!! And YES the Pasta Festival is much more interesting than the fact that 20 degrees Fahrenheit equals -6.67 degrees Celsius. Boring.

PMR fairly stable and predictable so long as I stay on 6 mg. GP/internist looked at neurologist report and agreed that we should hold off on neuropathy diagnosis. I said I was ok with that, especially since there isnโt any real treatment for neuropathy. She holds out hope that it could go away when PMR abates. Symptoms of that continue, however. Going in to get 2 week monitor for arrhythmia tomorrow. I imagine Iโll get diagnosed with that, unfortunately, though Iโm thinking itโs probably part of autonomic neuropathy, as I have other symptoms. How are you doing with the neuropathy stuff?
Congrats Melissa, you did it!!. For those of us tapering pred we understand what an accomplishment this is! Hereโs hoping tapering down the last twenty goes as smoothly as can be expected.

Everyone else says my face is much thinner... even the Rheumy said something about my face being narrower.... so I guess YES! I don't think I look like me yet, but soon maybe !
