NHS Appointments system... blurgh...

So, OH asked GP for a referral to see one of two rheumies at QE Gateshead who have an interest in PMR & GCA. (He tried to ask for a named doc but apparently GP couldnt do that.) Ho hum, but how lucky to be so close to a GCA specialist, I thought. And surely they'd look at the referral and see it was for PMR & suspected GCA and allocate the right doctor. Wrong! Letter from QE just arrived, with an appointment with a different doctor.

Question is, Can we ring and request to see one of the two specialists? Its already been two weeks since the diagnosis and starting on pred.

Hi Perkey, its fine, apparently the rhemy he's got at QE is familiar with PMR_GCA after all. Feel a bit silly for sounding off too soon, but hey, I feel I have a reasonable excuse for being slightly on edge the last couple of weeks!
