Do I give up taking lutein?

I have been taking lutein capsules for about 10 years on the advice from my optician (my mother had macular degeneration).

I read on here a couple of days ago that too much zinc is not good for auto immune diseases so I have stopped the lutein. Don’t know if I’m doing a good or bad thing? Can the aunties please help.

Where did you read zinc is not good for autoimmune disorders? Lack of zinc seems to be found in association with many autoimmune illnesses. Which suggests a bit more mightn't hurt and could be a factor in prevention.
