Was diagnosed with PMR August 2017, Giant Cell Dec. 2017...started Actemra injections twice monthly in May 2018. All has been good but now I am on a prednisone taper (5 mg for 10 days) along with the Actemra twice monthly injections. Headaches have begun again, along with jaw pain. Should I increase the Pred. Speak to your doctor urgently. It is possible you need more pred - contrary to belief, Actemra does not automatically mean you can reduce to zero pred, some patients still need some pred and how much varies. The Actemra is only a steroid sparer for many and some pred is still required. But none of us is medically qualified and cannot advise on things like this.
