My brain!!!!!

It is gone! I cannot remember anything for more than a few minutes. It seems to be getting worse now that I am dropping from 7.5 to 7 ! I thought it would be getting better... feel whiny and crabby and absolutely realize things could be so much worse but geeeze Louise !

Hello, I found 7 rather a trial. A whining Minnie and no brain. I was snivelling by 5pm, weeping over cooking dinner, with trembly legs and no go juice. Gets better, I guess when the adrenals start to work a bit. I think 7 is not low enough if you absorb most of it for the adrenals to get the message.

Yoga Bonnie, this has been happening to me but I’m on 4 1/2 -4 It’s happened before probablyaround 7, now jelly legs and heavy legs. Hopefully this too shall pass. Good luck

I’m tinkering around 4.5 and still get jelly legs out of the blue, especially if I’ve had to do anything out of the ordinary.

Do I contradict myself?

Very well I contradict myself.

But I am large, I contain multitudes. Walt Whitman.

This too shall pass. Xxx

Yep, adrenals. My reaction at 7 mg was deathly fatigue.

Me too. I've picked up 3 penalty points on my driving licence for exceeding the speed limit. Just cruising along on a lovely sunny Sunday morning and didn't realise speed had crept up. PC Plod not impressed!! Beware everybody. Some parts of UK operating zero tolerance at the moment. No 10% tolerance for 3 months.

Yes, we all do it and thanks for the info, John

I used to run Speed Awareness courses for 'Naughty Speeders' in conjunction with the Police, and learned a lot about Camera Enforcement along the way. Lots of nice, innocent 'Offenders' would say: "Ohh, MB, I was only doing 30-ISH / 70 -ish etc. This is sooo unfair!" We had to educate them with some Maths and Physics that it's the 'ISH' factor in speeding that's often the culprit when things go wrong (collisions, injuries and worse - I'll leave it to your imagination).

The message to our (usually very nice) audiences was always: a) don't assume anything about tolerances - they vary regionally (and sometimes are Zero tolerance) so best to default strictly to whatever is the Speed Limit wherever, and ignore Tailgaters. Also, speed limits aren't necessarily a Safe speed to drive at in the prevailing conditions (e.g. rain, snow, fog, dusk, heavy traffic etc etc). And b): modern cameras (esp on motorway gantries - 'Smart Motorway' technology) are usually switched on 24/7 - so don't think you can go past one at The Ton grinning at the camera mischievously at midnight on an empty motorway. You'll still get caught, and prosecuted. And c: the latest digital speed enforcement cameras have a massive range and accuracy - they don't 'flash' and often detect and 'snap' drivers before they have even been noticed. Technology beats Human reactions almost every time.

'Distraction' and various other types of Human Error invariably came out as the No. 1 cause of speeding when we had a group discussion about it. You know: late for work, stressed, tired, on Meds, on phone (Mmmm..), kids fighting on the back seat, nice comfy quiet car, not watching speedo, using the satnav etc etc. But one young-ish, embarrassed Lad put his hand up and said: "I was speeding because I've got a new girlfriend across town and was on a Promise that evening".

The audience of 25 Naughty Speeders of all ages and genders, and from all walks of Life erupted into hysterical laughter and gave him a Round of Applause. I must confess to joining in too... ;-) :-D

But Seriously (All here - esp if Brain Fogged / Pred Head etc?): take it easy out there on the UK's increasingly busy roads. Better to arrive a couple of minutes later than take risks and face the consequences - of whatever kind. You know it makes sense... ;-)

Chief Traffic Police Superintendent MB (only joking..) :-D

I'm right behind you - due to go to 7.5 tomorrow - but having read this, and off north for family weekend, will delay reduction till after BH. Not nice for you, but nice for me to read your plight and manage my own! All the best!

Poor Bonnie! I can’t picture you a crabby yoga girl! Forgetful yes, crabby no!

I’m going from 6 to 5 and called the wrong pharmacy to check on my mom’s prescription last night. I was distracted by my 4 and 2 year old grandchildren so I’ll use them as an excuse!

Advice...be gentle with yourself and breathe!

thanks!!! I AM rarely rarely crabby. Once my daughter said, "you are never crabby" which I thought was the best thing she ever realized! (as she is sometimes crabby.) But I have been. It is so strange and unsettling. I would HATE to be a crabby person! oh my!

'Louise' is my (2nd) middle name - true !! and I am also searching for my brain or the portion of it which seems to be more frequently 'out to lunch'. I share your irritation and despair yogabonnie - but as I told my children when they were only teens and DARED to imply I was 'losing it' - I had MUCH more than they did in the cerebral department to begin with - and I could lose lots and still be well 'ahead' of them (and at least a few others) .... you too I'm sure - or if this is all mumbo-jumbo at least we can still 'pretend' !!

Best

Oh I can relate to your post. I have 17 year old twin boys and they are constantly telling me I am losing it! And asking which old age home they should put me in! Cheeky b***.

Thank you! I love that your second name is Louise. My daughter's name is Nora and I met an English Poet who said, "I had an aunt named Nora, but she called herself Louise" I always thought it would be a great line for a short story!

Hi Yogabonnie, I have been reducing ds method and added a few weeks to it and so far so good I am now done to 4mg a day and I experienced the same as you. One day at a time and oh yea I have lots of sticky notes!!! lol

Hi Yogabonnie

It definitely gets worse if you worry about it too, as the added stress makes it harder to remember & l always think that kind of uses up your Pred in a non useful way, if you know what l mean? Chill & blame the Meds! 🌺
