Perhaps your GP could help you to locate another one and organise an appointment?
I think you will have to be very assertive and pro active as difficult as that can be. You must be your own advocate. Don’t wait any longer. Get on the phone xxx
As Daisychain says Get on the phone, we need to be proactive and think of ourselves or we will be forgotten.
Call the Rheumatology Dept and ask when they will be getting back to you, they should be getting a replacement Rheumie. They should also give you a time scale and if not ask what you are supposed to do in the meantime. You are already a patient with them and they have a duty of care to keep you informed of what is happening re your next appointment. If you are in the UK you can go to PALS (patient liaison service) at the hospital who will look into it on your behalf.
If the answer isn't acceptable then go back to your GP, that way you will be armed with what you have already done. He can refer you to another hospital of your choice but that might not be convenient for you. ATB.
Brilliant advice Telian darling. Bravo xxxxx
Hi Daisychain, dare I ask how you are feeling? or should I let sleeping dogs lie? x
They SHOULD be - but there is a shortage of qualified rheumies. One hospital in the north has recently lost 3 rheumies in a space of a couple of months - how do you replace that?
