Fantastic!

That’s a great milestone. Fingers crossed your inflammation stays at bay and you can continue reducing.

I’m down to 8 from 40 and now reducing by 1/2 mg per week, my daughter says my hamster cheeks are also reducing. I’m not so sure yet... I’ve felt a bit tired again but I suppose it’s not being reliant on Pred at such high doses.

How are your energy levels ?

in reply to

Wooo Hooo, hamster cheeks reducing! I can't wait for that phase to start! my energy levels are good... I have the occasional day where I feel I have to take a nap, but not nearly as often. You may be tired because you've had a LOT going on lately... You and Mick, traveling, doing lots of things around the house... Are you eating well? Taking any supplements? I take a Coenzyme B Complex supplement, that's supposed to give you more energy.

I don’t know a Mick? !!

But yes I’m eating well :)

SO SORRY!!!! I saw "Sheffield," and was off.... I thought you were SheffieldJane!!! Talk about Pred Head! Happy you are eating well though... maybe try the Coenzyme B Complex supplement! : )

Well done mamici. 35 does seem like getting into normal numbers now. 35 is also green and yellow ( I see numbers in colour). I love that you are celebrating your achievement, we don’t do enough of that- ever. 🎉🎊💥🌟🎈

in reply to SheffieldJane

Yes, I am celebrating, as I forgot to share with you all on the 11th and then life went off the rails a bit... but we have now resumed our normal broadcasting!!!

Hmmmmm, green and yellow, cool!!!!!! I'll check in when we get to 30 to see what colour that is!

Wow Melissa, that is fantastic news. Your condition has turned a corner and isn't that wonderful. I love all the various facts about the number 35. It is also the age I was many, many, many, moons ago. :-)

in reply to teesher

Thanks Teesher, It seems to have, yes! Shhhhhhhh! Don't want to jinx it.

Now if I can just get rid of peripheral neuropathy, get the messed up knee sorted out and stop falling on my face, BEFORE I drink the glass of wine, all would be right with the world.

PS - When I think about how old I "feel," it's always 35.... not sure why though?

Well done Melissa, and like the '35' facts, thought you could have come up with a list of 35 though! Only kidding... Congratulations and cheers to a continuing improvement...

in reply to Telian

*laughing* Just plain lazy of me, I'd say! ...but I struggled to get those!!!!! 35 is not a very popular number like some! Thank you!

As I said 'only kidding' but can't help being disappointed can I - you're the only one I know that can come up with these statistics in such a short time - you must permanently have your head in the 'virtual library'....well done you, just don't overdo it!!

in reply to Telian

Google and I are best friends!

...and yes I spend way too much time with my nose in the all too many virtual libraries and on-line reference databases. ...because you see, I have no life! *laughing*

Telian profile image
Telian in reply to

That statistic is certainly wrong......

in reply to Telian

; ) Perhaps. ...but, living virtually, does keep me out of trouble!

How has the taper been working for you?

80 to 35 in 7 months!!! So far, so good! Thanks for asking!

Well done !!! and interesting Melissa I just looked at my tapering history to see where I was 7 months after taking my first GCA dose (was on a lower dose for PMR for a couple of months prior) of at highest 60mg and it was only a couple of mgs higher than I have got to now over a year later (14.5mg). I have basically managed my own taper with my GP agreeing to this and have had to go 'back up' a couple of times when it was clear I had gone down too fast. I have been very and quite deliberately 'slow' I think and am now tapering at only 0.5mg a fortnight - or even a little longer if I have any suspect returning symptoms and THIS may still be too quick depending on the ongoing disease process which it seems has a 'life of its own'. I am very happy for you though as you have stayed so strong and determined at higher doses and I am sure as PMRpro has always said: " slowly slowly catchee 'monkey' " and you are well on your way !!!

Well Done Melissa ⬇️3️⃣5️⃣⬇️🆒

Melissa

Some 'thing' - maybe it's 'YOU' is missing on the forum - I am hoping you are just having lots of FUN on your new lower dose - but i's not quite as 'lively' around here .....

Best
