Quick Question about the site.

Occasionally, usually PMRPro, brings to our attention something relevant, say on the Lupus site. I find that if I follow up the information i.e. Click on the email, I become an automatic member of that site. Is this a quirk in the set up or is it peculiar to me?

I then get a number of emails from people with that unenviable disease , of which I have no experience, except one poor colleague who seemed quite broken by it.

I'd have thought it might be a quirk of the system peculiarly applied to you - don't think it happened to me. How bizarre...

I did happen to me once, so I just went into that site and took myself out of it. It may depend on whether you just read the post or “follow” it.

Might be worth just going through your profile to make sure you, or the system, hasn’t ticked a box you don’t require.

Don’t you just hate when technology thinks for itself 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks. I did go in and resign from the site. I hadn't ticked to follow anyone, and I am someone for whom machines go wrong - self service checkout - forget it - ticket machines at railway stations etc etc etc. Someone once said that maybe you're magnetic or something ha ha.

There's another similarity, Jane! I have never been brave enough to attempt paying at a self service checkout😂😂😂

I have tried but always need to be rescued. Just who does that system suit? Bring back people!!! Everywhere.

I will only use one if there is someone to do it for me! Even for one item... I detest them with a passion!

ATMs OTOH even I will use providing I'm sure of my PIN no. Which a few months ago caused a major FAIL. I knew every no - except the one I needed. I thought I did but chose the wrong final digit! Had to ring the bank - who kindly sent the requisite reminder so I didn't need the card replaced but, of course, living abroad that meant several days delay. Not normally a problem since the reason I'd forgotten was I so rarely need to use it!!!!!!!1

What is the matter with you today Poopadoop? Can I have some of it? 😂

I am a gadget girl but have issues with certain things less technical. When I was a child clockwork watches used to do all kinds of winding forwards and backwards if I didn't put plaster on back. Then for years if I rubbed back if overwound clockwork watch I could start then. Weird. I have allergy to elasterolast and nickel and wonder if some technologies have it in them or titanium white which I also seem to have trouble with and it in the casing and keyboards of computers.

Today I have had amoxicillin for laryngitis and chest infection and half a thing of robitussin chesty cough. Plus of course pred mycophenolate insulin linsoprisol levothyroxine tramadol co codamol amitrptilibe statins metformin adcal....think that's it.only co codamol reached main symptoms today.

I tried phoning Dr yesterday and a croak came out so hung up. Had to get dressed and wondered into surgery and criaked at them. Saw Dr within 5 mins and antibiotics...with fluids paracetamol and rest. First time in 20years I was seen on same day with queuing from 8am.

How interesting about your kinetic abilities. I am so sorry that you are ill. That is quite a cocktail you're on there. I am glad something helps. Have complete rest, watch old movies. I hope you get better soon and that PMR doesn't join the party.

Poopadoop obv)

Sorry about that lol. A bit feverish and delirious by then. Slept for first night since Saturday. Just avoid me if you see me 😨😧

Had no speaking voice for nearly a week now. Croak croak

Thank goodness for communication via the forum - no voice required and can't catch a cold.

Viruses and bugs are a different matter of course...

Same thing happened to me when I inadvertently entered the NRS site ( I think it was called that, it was about RA.I might had read a couple of posts at the most, so I was surprised when I started recieving email notifications from them.I had to sign off, too.

Ditto meant for Gaijin's post. I replied to a RA post, once, and found I received posts, daily. I stayed with it, as didn't know what to do. Also there was a lady who posted her lovely garden each time. I worked out how to get off it. On this site, I get Vasculitis and CKD posts.

It makes me kind of thankful that I've got what I've got to be honest. These other conditions sound even worse.

( this relates to being kidnapped by other forums). What a jumble.
